I can't think of a time in e-history when an online stream wasn't followed by a rip of said stream, which is then shared and consumed ravenously by the starving public. Wouldn't it make more sense to offer it officially if it's already out there? Or at least allow those who have pre-ordered it (*cough*) to have an e-copy?
They've done this with a few recent releases I believe. I know the new Darkstar album could be streamed full for weeks before they physical/digital release was out.
They're holding off on releasing a digital version early just as a courtesy to the people who want to buy a physical copy (LP, CD). I'm sure they know that anyone who wants to hear it, can hear it at this point, and will.

That makes no sense.
How will there being a digital release hurt anybody who wants to buy an lp or cd?

haha, awesome to see you here!
and yeah i don't see how it could possibly harm them by releasing it digitally, officially. they should have seen this problem and pushed the release date closer to the stream date.
There must be some sort of -something- in-between a live album stream and the debut that they have planned. Something has to happen -- no way there'd be a week long gap. lol maybe they play on Jimmy Fallon...
It's AD 2013. I see no reason whatsoever there has to be another week for the official American release. It's the age of digital music... Japan is getting it today, just release it today, worldwide, for those who want it digitally. And if you want it on CD, vinyl, whatever, understand it might take a little bit longer.
Really don't see why it isn't just being released today everywhere, but whatever. It's only going to hurt the record label in the end, since by not releasing it now, it's just going to cause more people to download rips, leaks, etc.
