Only For People Who Haven't Listened To The New Album Yet!
this thread is dedicated to everyone who is waiting until june 10th to listen to tomorrows harvest
this will be a place where we can all still visit the forum without having to worry about album analysis, spoilers, etc. and still discuss our love for boc's music, and our anticipation for the new album release.

big respect for the purists - that takes a lot of heart. i remember when i was younger and had the time, i would bring home a fresh cd, unplug the phone, turn off the lights, don the headphones and take it all in.Fireal420 wrote:this thread is dedicated to everyone who is waiting until june 10th to listen to tomorrows harvest

this is the only album in 10 years that i would go back and do that for.
hang in there - your patience shall indeed be rewarded.

I was going to listen to it today at lunch but I was having such a shitty day at work I did not wang to taint my first listen with stress. I am still really hoping we get a d/l on the 5th. Otherwise I willbe in the middle of the woods still trying to imagine what this record sounds like.
Then again, I might actually be able to get to Portland and find my friend with whom I first heard BoC, and we can relive that experience with TH...or something.
Or maybe I will buy a Japanese version.
Is getting a Japanese d/l as easy as using a proxy server? I never really looked into that. Do JP Bleep accounts get the d/l on the 5th too? I should know this...
I am LOVING what I am hearing from folks though. If there are lots of similarities to MHTRTC then I am very very psyched.

I haven't heard a thing other than the drone track with the album announcement nearly 1 month ago. It's felt like forever since then. I have a spot picked out in a giant gravel pit (the most desert-like environment near me) where I will listen to this album in full once it's out!
I am proud of you all who have abstained until official release! We've waited this long: what's another few days?!

I did not listen to a single note of it. I just opened the link for the visuals (hoping something cool would happen) with audio off, then I closed it when I realised it would have been probably all-black for all the stream.
I did not do it mainly because of respect for the music itself, personally I have a very little attention span while at the computer, I did not want to listen to it while browsing the net and doing other dozen of things. Plus I was afraid of buffering issues, crashes and so on. Nothing compares to a devoted and exclusive listen to the CD somewhere out of my house!
I also planned not to listen to Reach for the Dead, but then I convinced myself BoC "wanted" us to hear it, so with this excuse, I listened to it

1. Well, some people (myself included) have commitments. School, work, etc that prevented them from being able to tune into the stream.GeogEddie wrote:1. I don't think you'll find a single other person here waiting until June 10th to listen to TH after today's official stream on YouTube
2. How the hell do you "spoil" an album anyway?
2. Well, you might "spoil" the experience by being negative with every single post you make on this forum. But that's just my subjective opinion.
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

Right....i missed the stream.....which was very disappointing........not just so much about hearing it........but more enjoying the banter on here when it was happening. Its that "worldwide" connection and awakening of a community that has been waiting for this for so long, that makes this all the more special.
So i was kindly provided with links but only listened to the first 3 tracks again....and stopped.
That will do me till i have something in my inbox or letter box i think.

I was hovering over my computer the whole time but I couldn't do it. I want to go to the park and listen while I watch the sun rise (or go down, depending on when Bleep decide to give us our digital copies
)
The reports on the album are generally very good, but I'm not going to read too much into what people have said. I think BoC sounds different to everyone and everyone has their own favorites on each album. I'm sure I will find mine in there.

Exactly this.
It means something different to every single person. I love that idea.

I'm joining this support group too. Couldn't make the listening party last night as I had guests although I did manage a really cheeky 5 minute listen about halfway in.
Besides, I want to listen to the album in the environment of my choosing, which will hopefully be sat in a park in the sun next Monday lunchtime.
I'm chomping at the bit to hear the bloody thing now, but I suppose at least I have the new Jon Hopkins album (released yesterday) to tide me over.
I'm even trying to have a BoC-free week this week in preparation - I've been listening to them just a little bit too much recently.

2. By not listening to it on vinyl first. I'm not an audiophile, but I play one on tv.

Great thread. having a family and lots of commitments i didn't want my first experience of this to be haunched over my laptop with the potential to be interrupted
I plan to book a bit of me time to listen to it first, take a walk, find a quiet spot to immerse myself in it and give it a good few listens.
