I haven't heard a single thing from the album yet. I pre-ordered both vinyl and CD on first day. I'm very much looking forward to my first listen!

Also, nice to meet you all.

I dipped into the stream for about 2 mins and caught a bit of a tune that I liked the sound of, but other than giving RFTD a few spins to get a bit of a heads up on how the new album might roughly sound, I've not listened to anything either.

If I'm being totally honest, I'm really not a fan of these pre-release album streams: either put the record out or don't, it just feels like a bit of a cock tease to me.

I have a spot picked out in a giant gravel pit (the most desert-like environment near me) where I will listen to this album in full once it's out!

I am proud of you all who have abstained until official release! We've waited this long: what's another few days?!
Though it's been a few years since I was last up there, I recall Fraser Canyon was a pretty dry looking place when I went through there. Less than 25 cm of rain a year on average too. Though I could understand not wanting to drive if you were more than an hour or so away...

I haven't heard it (didn't listen to the stream). Basically too busy atm.

I just want to download it and listen to the whole thing at once.

I was going to wait like you guys, but then I realized that my best memories always come way after my first listen anyway. Had a lot of fun watching people's reactions while listening. :D

You guys are in for a treat, it's a great LP.

Same here... reach for the dead a few times... Been too busy anyway, why rush a streamed listen when it's been 7 years, a few more days isn't going to hurt. I'll wait for the CD.

I haven't listened to it yet, and to be honest I'm surprised how many fans on here have. Surely you want the first time hearing it to be on vinyl (or CD) through decent speakers? Can't think of anything worse than the first listen being a YouTube stream.
Also, assume this has Warp written all over it, can't think BOC would want it listened to in that way?

Yeah the stream did nothing for me so I don't think you missed anything but it does come alive at high quality.

i was thinking that to. i think they've done a good job making there pre-release responsibilities as awesome as possible.

besides Reach for the Dead I haven't heard anything. I did go to the stream but thankfully it didn't work.

My girlfriend tuned in on the youtube-broadcast said I had to see that. (She's into facebook and got drawn there by aficionado's there). Stood up, passed the table and thus heared 30sec of it,.. mumbled something about spoiling the fun, before going upstairs...

Somewhere next week I do hope to listen to it when it drops in the organic analog mechanical mailbox. :D

having heard it in the desert it was about as perfect a first listen i could ever dream of. since that happened, there really was no going back. i might have held out had i not gone - its a tough call.

one thing that i thought was extraordinary was 20,000+ were listening to it at the same time and while streaming sound may not be remarkable ... the energy, vibe, and understanding that we were all doing this together, was.

I wasn't able to listen to the stream, because of work. I haven't bothered looking for downloads of the rips of those, because why bother, I've got the vinyl on preorder, and I'm old enough to exercise patience at this point. I could always try to find the Japanese release, but again, I don't really want to. I gave up downloading music a long time ago when I decided that if I like an artist's music, the least I can do is pay them for their work if at all possible. That and I really prefer listening to music on a physical format for the most part, or at least legitimately owning it in some form.

All I've heard so far is the first three tunes from the listening party. I kind of like this anticipation.
