Seems once BoC releases a studio album, it's only a few years wait for the next one.

With TH and BoC getting a lot of free publicity over the past few weeks, I wonder if this is the start of another fairly active period for them. I love the sound of TH and a "sequel" album 2-3 years down the road would be amazing.

If nothing else, maybe they could just clean up and formally re-release all their old material that's all over the 'net. iTunes finally got proper releases of Hi Scores and Peel Sessions, for example.

I'm a bit too skeptical to hope for any BoC really. I mean, with all the stuff that happens, like mdg saying it will come out 2010, then that goddamn black box, etc. and nothing happens for years, I just don't like sitting there hoping and thinking wishfully.

If they keep coming out with more stuff, I'll be ecstatic. But I'm just too afraid to expect anything if that makes any sense.

Also, I think the Sandisons care more about making a quality release than just releasing something subpar and quickly for gettings sales/keeping their name out there. It seems like they really put some effort and perfectionism in this release because they don't want to fall into the syndrome of a band having their later albums be significantly worse than their previous.

Having said that, an EP would not surprise me. They do tend to have a lot of left over tracks when they do an LP.

They can't drop an album like this on us and then leave for another 8 years. I mean I guess they could, but that would be so cruel.

The process for which they create a track is not an overnight one . Tracks morph into other tracks , there are experiments of experiments and when they like what they are hearing it must take months to develop one track . They are perfectionists always forging ahead evolving their sound as they go .

It's no wonder TH took 8 years .

My guess is that TH isn't the only work that has been finished in these 8 years there were many rumors of a double album floating around last year most notably from Peter Serafinowicz .

I think there will be more soon and by soon i mean maybe with in a year maybe 2

I actually seem to recall at one point that there was serious talk of re-releasing some of the really old BoC albums, so they'd have a proper, high-quality release on iTunes, eMusic, etc. Which I would be in favor for. To date, only Hi Scores has been re-released into a legal, digital alternative.

There are some absolute gems from early BoC that just don't sound great because of the sound quality and the production just not being very good.
