Some smoovy rhodes, jangling xylophone & airy synths. Plus a nod to the great producer wizard skywave! Love you Pantheon.
Whoa! That's groovy! I love how you panned those hi-hats. I can't freestyle worth shit, but I decided to put the wackest lyrics over that as a comment. :p

Anyway, here's a little tune I'm messing with. Not so sure if I want to make it fully public yet, but I figure I might as well see everyone's opinion on it.

Also threw together a little silly synth jam earlier today

So a while back I said I would post some unfinished ideas/works-in-progress I had sketched out before the birth of my daughter. That time has arrived.

What you won't get is the following:

- Arranged tracks
- EQ'd tracks (because I don't know how)
- Mixed tracks
- Any fancy fills on the drums (or other instruments)
- Transitions of any description
- Coherence
- Professionalism
- Just a selection of material; these sketches aren't the cream of my (or any) crop

What you will get is this:

- Ideas that date over a year old - all of 'em!
- The ideas jammed out live
- Dodgy fades (all done on a laptop trackpad)
- Mis-timed introduction of the tracks constituent parts
- Rank amateurishness - this is the first time in over six months I've re-engaged with making music.

Sketch One

Sketch Two

Sketch Three

Sketch Four

Sketch Five

Sketch Six

the full monty job lot in one hot disco mega-mix

What I would appreciate is your views on which track leads the way to be fleshed out into the finished article - with six months of dead music-making time I've lost all sense of objectivity. So..... vote now!

really digging sketch's 3 and 5. I'd say 3. I already like it, so a finished up piece would probably sound pretty awesome.

Working again with Buddha on the Moon, a covers project with tunes from Caravan and Elliot Smith next. This is an Ultra Vivid Scene song called Staring at the Sun;

reminds me of bad 90's alt.

was this intentional?

Exactly. I listen to these guys a lot which got me into the whole out-of-tune screaming thing.

That being said, it was probably a bad idea to post this. I'm going to remove the link in my original post and would appreciate if you would edit your quote to reflect this.

Sorry, midnight posting, lol ;)

...

why? I liked it.

it had this unkempt scuzzy ferocity that sounded energizing and youthful.

I said was it meant to SOUND like bad 90's alt, not that it was bad, nor was it from the 90s, because that's impossible.
