I'm just listening to the album is reverse order as a few people have suggested and I'm surprised how good it sounds so far. Semena Mertvykh sets the tone of the album well and is appropriate considering it was the music from the album promo. The following tracks are some of the most accessible on the album in my opinion and make it a lot easier to get into. In reverse order it follows the more traditional album format of more accessible or catchy tracks and the start and slightly some more obtuse or experimental tracks towards the end interspersed with accessible ones. Geogaddi follows this sort of sequence in my opinion, maybe The Campfire Headphase too. Music has The Right... not as much.

Out of interest, has anything tried listening to the 'twin' tracks in reverse order? i.e. 17,1,16,2 etc.; I saw some comments from people saying they enjoyed listening to the twin tracks in order but starting from 1, others said the transitions were too jarring to work though.

such a fool with this stuff. the FLACs open automatically in VLC. anyone know the best method to have them go into itunes?

flacs don't work with itunes. get foobar or convert them to alac (apple lossless)

I realized that the WAVs comes with the purchase FLACs... the WAVs went right into itunes and i cannot tell a difference in quality... however, there is a noticeable difference between the WAV/FLACs and mp3s.

I'm psyched I got these as opposed to only having the itunes version. they sound great.

Just listened to Tomorrow's Harvest for the first time. I love it. I was a bit lukewarm on the guitars and pastoralism of TCH and I'm happy BoC have returned to the dark synth heavy sound. The sense of atmosphere is awesome. It's like a lost early 1980's sci fi movie soundtrack.

dude, the internet knows you like boards of canada so the ads will follow you.

just like when some wack modern dubstep rave album comes out the banner adds will appear all over for the frat bros at the college i go to.

That's exactly how I felt for the first couple of plays. After a few more listens the full weight of this album will hit you like it has me. I'm still reeling.....

Not french, but i live in france, waiting on the CD, but am thinking of getting the vinyl in a local store for the goodies, only trouble is FNAC is our only local store, probably don't have it!

cool, was in that area for holiday last year went from Nantes via noirmoutier, quiberon, concarneau, then south past la rochelle to finish in biarritz, great times…

Just had my first listening of TH, and I really can't think of a better gif to show how my brain feels like right now.

The point was the album is to be listened to in the order BoC sequenced it in.

Not that there's a better sequence they knew fans would re-assemble it in. Y'know?

Just finished my first listen and first impression is - fantastic. Epic, with huge depth and complexity to so much of the tracks, I was initially concerned about the lack of BOC feel to it, but actually many of the tracks start out that way and then start to develop into what sound like classics.
Has the most realistic feel of a 'concept' of any of their albums so far and for me really captures a journey of paranoia to collapse to hope and acceptance (starting to sound a bit wanky here).
Stand out tracks for me are Cold Earth and Nothing is Real.
Loved reading the track reviews on here while listening, found myself nodding vigorously at so many points.
I have to say it may have coloured (but most likely enhanced) my experience of the album as it's the first new album I've bought in years that I've really sat down and listened to, but the whole experience of the build up, then the album and track reviews, has been really great. Thanks to everyone on here.
