US PRE ORDER COMES WITH 7" IN RECORD STORES
I just called my local record store hoping it would be possible to pick up my copy a day early and snag some posters and stuff. They were keen on maintaining the street date, good on them, and then i asked about additional promotional materials.
she read me the info stating that purchases made with proof of preorder are to be given a exclusive 7" with their order. she wasn't able to state what was on the 7", but said i'd probably wanna get there early since this stuff is always while supplies last.

I'll report back tomorrow when I go pick it up, but the girl on the line was reading the info verbatim off her instructions on what store code to scan for the preorder and gift. she said that's the most information she could give me, because usually they don't receive any information about preorder bonuses until the date of release.bdzz wrote:Pics or it didn't happen.
A lot of people already bought their vinyl in the US on saturday. No one reported anything about that.
Possibly it is just the store's gift? So not an official Warp promo.
this particular record store isn't known for giving out swag. for example, when i asked if i could have the tomorrow's harvest poster they had on the wall they told me the label pays for that wall space, so they couldn't give it to me or reserve it for me until the album releases. they're certainly not giving out free seven inches unless warp provided them. I wouldn't mind a reach for the dead single, but i'm not holding my breath on it being boc material.

You can get a sealed one on Discogs for 7 EUR.BunnyRabbit wrote:That was pretty limited. I doubt they're giving it away.thepastinsidepressant wrote:probably that Bibio 7", nothing to worry about, next thread.
oh i'd take the bibio 7" though, never say no
Yeah, 1000 copies but not a high value thing right now.

agreed. it seems strange this would be isolated to the US. anything is possible. the girl could have been reading info for the wrong record, it could just be a warp sampler, it could be a 7" version of the code 12", it could be a reach for the dead single. one thing is certain. i ain't lying about it.BunnyRabbit wrote:Well, hopefully they heard my pleas for a Cold Earth / Nothing Is Real single.![]()
Seems odd that only one person has heard of this though. Nothing in the UK. Nothing in Japan.
7" of the code record would be awesome.softfokus wrote:agreed. it seems strange this would be isolated to the US. anything is possible. the girl could have been reading info for the wrong record, it could just be a warp sampler, it could be a 7" version of the code 12", it could be a reach for the dead single. one thing is certain. i ain't lying about it.BunnyRabbit wrote:Well, hopefully they heard my pleas for a Cold Earth / Nothing Is Real single.![]()

Just called my local record shop (from Warp's official "local" list) where I pre-ordered the vinyl, and they only knew about the download card being included.
However, the woman I spoke with said that it's not uncommon for pre-order extras to not be included on the pre-release lists they receive...."especially if it's something rare/collectible like a 7 inch".
They're receiving their shipment at 2PM tomorrow, and I'll be there as early as possible. I'll let you know if I get anything extra.
Fingers crossed.

I think that these two things are related

What if the 7" is a similar test press "one of ONLY 15 for the entire US"
And the seller in the store was misinformed.

Thanks for the follow up!softfokus wrote:well, here's the update. they were misinformed. they called warp about it this morning, and they didn't know what they were talking about. there was a mix up somewhere down the line. sorry to get anybody's hopes up.
the vinyl is a beautiful thing though.
What about that?

Two stores confirmed, one in Orlando, one in Brooklyn.
