Game of Thrones (thread may contain spoilers)

Post by m_thomp »

First things first, I'm not a fan of the fantasy genre in any format: I'm certainly not a person who gets a kick out of rolling an 80 sided dice and subtracting battle points from a hand-painted miniature elf figurine.

However, I am hooked on Game of Thrones - for the uninitiated it's a tv show best described as Robin of Sherwood with added tits.

So last Monday I had the choice: Tomorrow's Harvest internet playback or penultimate ep of Season 3. I choose the former, and on Thursday caught up with the latter. I think I chose the wrong way round as I still reeling from the last episode. That was no holds barred programme making. Can we discuss? I mean, seriously, what in the name of shitting crikey just happened?

I've enjoyed watching this in parallel to the show, which is much funnier than the title suggests (please don't click on if you haven't seen episode 9, or have any remote desire to watch the show in future - there are planet-sized spoilers abound):

I know a few people who are much the same - no interest in fantasy type stuff normally, but LOVE Game of Thrones*. I've never watched it - it has always seemed a bit "dungeons & dragons" for me, but maybe I should give it a go...

* - a couple if friends (who are also a couple) not only really like it, but have owned up to having "Game of Thrones sex" after each episode. Wine was consumed prior to that confession.

Good show, I've had most of it spoiled for me though. I love Littlefinger and Varys, they have such great dialogue and scenes together.

Littlefinger is a scary son of a bitch, hands down the best player in the Game of Thrones.

Sorry dude. I don't have the ability to search on my phone (or quote, or edit my own posts). I have a very basic Android phone and Twoism looks like a very basic text site on it - no banners, no graphics, no formatting. I don't always use my phone, but did for this post.

Feel free to close this and merge the two threads.

No worries dude. I wasn't annoyed with you. I was mourning my own inability to get a thread going. :P

What will come first, the next GoT book or the next BoC album?

BOC Album BY A LARGE MARGIN. That man is never finishing The Winds of Winter, as in ever...
Spoiler: show
I loved the show and read the books in high school. I was so disappointed with the final season it's almost like I wish I never even got into it in the first place.

2026, George RR Martin releases a Boards of Canada album. You wouldn't think he'd be able to make a beat out of samples of Danaerys shitting on a mountain but the result goes kinda hard
