I really need Moebius as my right hand person regarding everything that's BoC related. He's got so much more knowledge about all of it... it's truly amazing... so ppl'd better mail him if they got any questions ;-)

He's done a great job to my wiki site.. bloody annoying that the spambots ruin a lot of it all the time... nothing I can do about it which is a shame!

But yeh thumbs up for Moebius! 8)

Well, not exactly; he basically said he got this information from BoC, and that even he himself and not heard them. The whole incident caused a bit of a bruhaha on the old IDM mailing list; you can read the Crofter's post for yourself. It's rather interesting.

The Cosmic Crofter himself is a rather mysterious person. I wrote up a bit about him on the wiki (yes, on one of those impossible to find pages :) ). He seems to be rather well connected.

Like what I said, I hate it when people fuck around with the wiki... I would like it more if nobody could edit it without request or something like that, or only Fredd-E and Moebius could.. But then that would be pretty annoying getting tons of email, etc...
hello.

I've just been around for a longer while than most people, and I poke around into old places that most people have forgotten about nowadays. I wasn't around for the really old stuff, though, just read about them after the fact.

I've found a method to prevent anonymous edits on the wiki page right here: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Preventing_Access

But preventing this is kinda against the normal procedures of having a wiki I think... and still those spambots are smart enough to create a bogus account and use that to spam... because I just checked the userlist on my wiki and it contains a lot of JUNK users... blegh... gotta hate spambots!

PS: Moebius,; you are a sysop now.. I think you can use the special toolbox now on my wiki.. enjoy!

PS2: Maybe you could create an entry in the table of contents: "special pages" and use that to link to all those ghost pages you made so far, might be a nice idea?

I dont see why it has to be so huge, yeh its cool to see them about on the internet, and signing up to myspace shows that their is a big possibility that they have seen this site.

Actually, looking at that screenshot that warp emaile saying " this isnt a hoax or anything email me to talk fruther" etc, I assume Warp told BoC about the Redmoon incident and I would like to know what they think about it. So maybe a interview on the myspace page would be good, i'd like to see that.

Amen. AMEN.

Yep friend, we are pretty much done here. drink a beer, have a thought or two, float on and what not. And yes, warp personally sent me an email explaining how Mike and Marcus do NOT want to look gay...so they jumped right on that shit ya know? uhg...

The end.

Hahaha! Well I havent been on these forums in a few weeks. In fact last time i was on was when this same topic was being discussed...before the truth was uncovered. So you are the sneaky one! I say good job man. Seems like a lot of rabid boc fans would hate on this because its myspace...but they're stupid. you made a cool site for boc and it even reached boc personally so i say fucking say cheers.

Hey boc, haven't seen you around these parts for a bit. And yes, of course I'm gonna get some negative banter about making that site. It is quite regular for crazed boc fans to be weirdly protective over those brothers. They will shout "myspace! It's boc heresy! set joshkowski ablaze!" I'm not saying this forum is full of boc loonies...just in general ya know? I almost want to see something absurd in the future...just so i can see a fanatic blow a serious gasket, shitting his pants instantly. Like a picture taken of Marcus and Mike having a picnic with Tom from myspace, maybe even holding hands. Ok...maybe not that obnoxious but you get the point. Honestly...we don't know those two scots and have no idea what the hell is going on their heads. maybe they sometimes check these forums, maybe they read some of their messages on myspace, maybe they take regular trips to outerspace on their private hexagon sun space craft ( which is hidden directly under the hexagon studios ) Anyway I'm drunk and I'm rambling...i already forgot what i was talking about. All i know is i'm talking about outer space...and hexagon shaped rocket ships.

OK, what I really wanted to say in the end is...i get some bullshit from people sometimes but I'm ultimately glad/proud of that little site that an adventure directly towards boards of canada's viewing pleasure...and I had managed to interact with my favorite music makers of all time. So I'll cheers to that...and Also I'd for this boc myspace topic to be dead forever.

PLEASE! BURY ME WITH IT!

i love that MM song...ahem.

( Also, I am going to contact warp and ask If it would ever be possible to do some kind of harmless boards of canada interview over the non intrusive myspace messaging system! I mean come on! give a dog a bone here! If steven can work something out I will let the forum come up with some fresh questions! Its not that crazy of an idea! wait...it kind of is, anyway seeya later people )

ALSO, I need some backing motivation. I can probably only ask warp ONE thing...and it has to be worth it people. Should i ask if i can maybe get a simple myspace interview? or something else? Its kind of limited but warp are being very understanding and nice to me right now. Just give me some ideas guys...it has to be soon.

Well, I once tried to set-up a BoC remix competition over at xltronic. The goal would be the same like it was with the Autechre remix competition where Sean and Rob picked the winner. BoC have done this in the past with the video contest at watmm so who knows..
I sent a request to all known possible BoC contacts but never got a response.

A competition like this will bring lovely remixes for sure, the mere fact of remixers on this board alone will quarantee awesome remixes. Not to mention all the other remixes once this is "official".
Phobiazero (admin of xltronic) does have the possibilities to host the tracks and he also confirmed he is up to it.. but only if BoC are involved.

So, if you want to ask something as this.. as a lot of BoC fans get involved.

Aesthetics, excellent idea! seriously, I have put this on first priority already. I do have direct contact with "the big boss man" of warp ( thats what they call him anyway ) He is already sending me free goods...but i think i can ask a harmless question or two...he is very understand. And yes, that is actually a good interactive idea, i like it. Everyone, feel free to post more idea's

Ok, I'm still not seeing why this is a big hype and everyone should praise you for setting up a BoC myspace and Warp took it over.

Yeh you did, cool thanks for showing other people what BoC are and introducing them to their music althought they'll only listen to Dayvan Cowboy and possibly more.

So tell me if I'm missing something here, BoC have a myspace... they wont do anything on it. Sorry but its just getting much bigger than it actually is.

EDIT: and its like, "OK, find you got me!! I did it!!" but I dont think we were all going "WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE BOC MYSPACE? WHO THE FUCK?" So this is all very strange.

But.. aren't there like, six million threads on forum about the boc myspace. It think it's received quite a bit of discussion lately. All this clarification has been nice, imo, not that I had an emotional stake in the issue to begin with.

I think the perfect request would be to conduct a BOC interview in which you would submit individual fan questions from this board. I don't recall them ever doing a fan-based interview, it would be really cool and it would give others on the board a chance to participate. if this sounds like a good idea maybe someone should start a seperate thread about it.

I personally would like this. Having boc judge remixes is cool, but if there's anything I'd like more of from the brothers it is INFORMATION. I'd like to hear their opinions on like, the Red Moon thing, the box set, and more of their opinions on things like influences, etc.

I think the probability of getting that is significantly lower, but.. it would be cool.
