I OVERFLOW MAN

The album definitely deals with current affairs of the world and the possible trouble we may all be in. The ghost of a city on the album cover, the fact that "Tomorrow's Harvest" is a "doomsday" or "prepper" store, the realities we all face as we get older and how meanings change.

So, maybe the "I" is Earth and she is overflowing with mankind which is killing her and in turn, us. Global overpopulation.

Yep, same here!!

Some fellow musos I was working with yesterday were pretty blown away when I told them about the promo for TH... None of them had heard of BoC before, but they all loved the tunes I played them

I'd say that the Palace Posy/Apocalypse anagram is indicative that I OVERFLOW MAN and other track titles probably are as well.

i was reading it as "i overflow, maaaaaaan." do people in the UK even say "man" like that? always assumed that was a US thing.

it is more common in glasgow than the rest of the uk, i have heard. but certainly not natural. i like the earth overflowing man thing, but it's obviously an anagram first and foremost

It fits the vibe of the times and the record. Hey, the disc is round too, like Earth

. Anagrams don't work well with it either, nothing that stands out anyhow.

OK, so after tripping out over some buried voice in sick times for an hour, I just came to what seems to be a clue.

The CD says I OVERFLOW MAN. I truly believe this is intended to be an anagram for Owl of Minerva. I think it could also be a double entendre though.

from what I understand from the people who have received their vinyl copies, it doesn't say this on any of the labels. That strikes me as a little odd.

So given the hypothesis that it means something related exclusively to the CD version, And given that people say there are no hidden tracks or data tracks. I think it might have to do with the entire album looping or being reordered concept. You can't really do that with a vinyl since its split up on 4 sides and would have to manually flip them etc to play them continuously anyway.

Just a thought, it could just be left off for some sort of graphic design reason, but I do find it a bit odd.

The other thing is that if it was truly put there to be a hidden meaning of OWL OF MINERVA, I don't think they would know the anagram they were going to create (I OVERFLOW MAN.) ahead of time. Therefore, they couldn't know that it would be a clue to unlocking the hidden or 2nd track order.

So I basically just defeated my own argument, but felt like documenting it in case it sparks any thoughts from anyone else.

I noticed that there is a 39 second overflow when using Collapse as an outro track in audacity and attempting to blend the tracks in a simplistic fashion as many have suggested here.

Could this be significant?

i like the yellow and black they used, at first reminded me of Warning colours, the older PG logo on vhs tapes and of course Radioactivity. perhaps some connection there or reasoning behind that cd colour choice.

Is the entire track list an anagram? Maybe that's why they used Russian for Semena Mertvykh...needed some Vs and Ys.
