On another note, it got me thinking about Aphex Twin and Windowlicker, which peaked at #16 back in the day. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but didn't Richard have it removed from the charts, because it was all a joke that went too far, or am i thinking of Come To Daddy? Sort of funny though!

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, I was a bit confused as well... charts are always a bit odd, there are so many to choose from! They are also at #1 on the Independent Albums Top 40 and #2 on the Record Store Albums Top 40 (behind the new Beady Eye release).

(I don't believe that chart success is in any way indicative of musical value though. I was just curious to see how TH was doing in the charts because I wish the BoC all the luck)

My faith in humanity hasn't been restored just yet. I think some of this success is due to brilliant and engaging marketing on the part of Warp and a lot of exposure via music websites. However, I think it's mostly due to a whole lot of friends of BOC fanatics (like us) giving the album a shot because for over half a decade they've had to listen to us rant and rave about the genius of BOC. I have exposed dozens of people to BOC over the years and I know at least a few who have or will be purchasing the album simply based on my hype alone. They are casual listeners who will give it a spin or two and quickly dismiss it as boring because the 'drop' never came, then head right back to whatever poison is being blasted through the radio. BOC isn't easy or light music, and Tomorrow's Harvest is probably their most 'inaccessible' album to date.
My mum just bought Tomorrow's Harvest. My MUM. She's 59, normally listens to Runrig and Coldplay, and she loves TH. Ok, so I'd been explaining to her for months about the Cosecha and number clues..but even then, BoC are undoubtedly getting a whole new legion of fans through this and the chart positions reflect it.

I doubt she'd even heard of them before I mentioned the vinyl clues (which I did while it was happening), but my subsequent obsession with TH has obviously rubbed off. A convert! She'll be getting a copy of MHTRTC soon.
