Thanks everyone. So far Leo* has shown he's very good at sleeping and drinking milk.

I'll let you know his opinion on Tomorrow's Harvest as soon as possible.

* - at least we didn't go for Aquarius or Gemini

As an aside, we bought him "Ewan the Dream Sheep" - a toy to help wee babies sleep. It has some BRILLIANT drones/White noise! I may post Soundcloud links if I get a chance for sampling

Firstly, congrats on the new arrival. Hope Leo and mum are doing well.

Secondly, we've got a Ewan the Sheep too(although I call him Shaun, much to the wife's disapproval). We still use it, even though Ellie is 5 months. I was going to sample the sheep too. Apparently the drones are of waves, the womb and a vacuum cleaner. I like the harpsichord (button on front left paw/leg). Sample that, chop it up an reverse it. Hey presto: Four Tet!

^ aw, thanks man. Hope you enjoyed that sweet nectar - I'm gasping for one just now. May have a small Glenlivet when I get in from the hospital instead.

I did grab a sample of Ewan the Sheep this morning. For some reason Soundcloud won't let me share a link, but search for ianedwardtaylor and there they are. Along with a "field recording" of some very groovy Sri Lankan music my barber played once...

Actually, they are. Also fun with Ewan is when the batteries start to go, the drones sound more distorted, detuned and randomly restart when playing. Brian Eno must have made millions from similar generative ambience

hey gang. our son was just born into the world - i would like to introduce Michael Marcus.
kidding! i love BOC but we have healthy boundaries.

our son, Ivan Pavlovich was just born. we are just back from the hospital and he is already listening to a steady stream of BOC (well, during my watch). it is my belief that when he is older he will listen to BOC and say it makes him feel nostalgic - literally! what a fun experiment.

anyway, while the final track of this very heavy album indicates otherwise, i cant help but look over at the little fella and and feel compelled to think of the opposite - "семена живой" (seeds of the living). what a great year it has been.

thanks Gents. his arrival has just made my whole world seem surreal - but in a most wonderful way. it really is the best!

Mexicola glad you like it here! if you (everyone for that matter) are ever back in the Bay area be sure to stop in. Monterey is the best place to dive with seals, whales and all kinds of sea creatures ... we even have a Seamount in our Sanctuary.

we also have some really nice, proper English pubs here. Imperial pints are on me!

ha! sad to say but i think you are right (for now) A Northern Soul ... going on 2 hours of sleep round the clock for 2 weeks now - just one solid lager puts my chin into my chest. pathetic! if my old rugby team could see me now, i would wake up with one shaved eyebrow. hoping to cure that all as the little lad learns to sleep 3-4 hours at a spell ... so his dad can crack into the Laphroaig every now and then!
