that record is damn near incredible, and I hate most post punk.El Camino wrote:Well i can't recommend any other nuclear war movies but this reminded me of an album, This Heat's "Deceit" from 1981. The band members were fearing for a possible nuclear war and the whole album is based around that, really chaotic, unsettling and is kinda post-punk/industrial.
Plus the last track sounds like after a nuclear explosion, just an eerie drone with buzzes that sound like flies and other occasional screeches.
"Threads" and other nuclear holocausts.

Threads looked a bit more like a documentary of the future to me when I was a kid. Living near Glasgow, and so near Faslane where the nuclear subs were based, my parents said we'd probably die quite soon if the attack happened. Jesus fuck, that's seared into my mind along with QED, Threads, and then the Protect & Survive films that were shown at weekends on tv.
The UK in the 70's and early 80's was a mad place to grow up.
