Tomorrows Harvest - The Movie (as made by twoism)

Post by Cupz »

Watching those opening credits made by betacords made my fingers itch.

What if we as twoism made the tomorrows harvest movies by combining our talents like we did with the OoT collabs and make a full fledged movie for the album?

How could we approach this without moving all over the place.
Could we get a story in there?
The original video for reach for the dead could be a great palette to work from.

Gemini and reach for the dead done, next up white cyclosa!

already mentioned that idea...but nobody seemed interested...would be up for it...I suck at film making...although editing is quite good...I think al official videos (Cosecha Signal One, csch, TH transmission) can/should be woven into it somehow...maybe for NEW SEEDS? would be fitting no?

It's a great idea, boc gave us an amazing album and in return we provide the visuals, artist and audience in collaboration!
Wish i could help, no time or expertise though :(

I think this is a great idea!

How would you go about it at a global level? You'd need the ideas, storyboards, rushes and edit saved on a server to allow those involved to access them. I don't know how that would happen though.

I don't think it has to be that complicated. Just whoever has the ideas and resources can make one or more by themselves and share, and whoever's videos are most fitting will probably be recognized by natural selection. I definitely have some ideas and resosurces. Time and energy on the other hand....

From a different post on the same topic.
creativeowlet wrote:So, I'm currently in the throes of attempting to do just this. I want to shoot and/or compile enough footage to tell a visual story parallel or complimentary to the auditory one. If anyone in the Los Angeles area or elsewhere is interested in collaborating please let me know - the more help the merrier. So far nothing is solidified, but lately I'm leaning towards an 'Animatrix' style compilation wherein different directors tell individual stories within the same universe with an overarching theme to the whole thing. I've started storyboarding and compiling ideas for shots, locations and narrative and the more I do the more I'm compelled to continue and make something truly great.

Part of me is fairly certain (and terrified) that Boc, Warp, Krug and Co are already making a TH film- but even if it were to come out tomorrow I still feel compelled to make something that approaches the level of awesomeness visually that the album does sonically.
I want to stay away from aping the visual style of Krug/RFTD too much. Where appropriate certain touches or flourishes are welcome of course but there is a difference in my mind between Krug's interpretation of the aesthetic and the actual feel of BOC. There is overlap, but less than some might indulge in.

I also would like to stay away from "found footage". I don't have a logical reason other than that I feel like I can shoot and produce far better footage than some stock-footage feeling stuff that is consistently the foundation of many fan videos.

Perhaps an indiegogo type campaign to fund the film efforts would be useful? I know that I have ideas that would take a budget, if only a modest one. There are lenses I want to rent, (100mm and 65mm macro, various tilt shifts etc.) and other gear as well, but everything costs money and while I'm fully prepared to sink a good portion of my own cash into this just because I want to do it, the more the better. It'd be nice to shoot on a better camera than my canon. I've been mulling over contacting Warp as well in order to attempt to secure rights so that my/our work could be distributed to film festivals and the like.
