Hi guys,

new here, but just wanted to share this: it's the orchestral version of Pete Standing Alone arranged by Scottish composer David Horne and performed by the London Sinfonietta as part of the Warp Works & Twentieth Century Masters concert series.

Cool! Thanks for sharing. I've always wondered what it sounded like from the LS. When that CD was released, I was disappointed that the BOC arrangements weren't included.

Excellent. Thanks Chalope, one of my favorite BoC tunes. Can I ask where you got this recording from and are there any higher quality recordings of this you know of? Oh man, the percussion is really good!

Well, you're welcome guys.
i was there when London Sinfonietta performed WW in Paris with a good friend in late 2007 (if i well remember). He recorded the show, but mostly in his pocket..... I'm sorry, i don't know any higher quality version, in fact i was wondering if any of you got a better one (?)

it was the one and only time i almost cry at a performance

specially because it was really unexpected they play Pete Standing Alone.

As you said Aprioron, i was also very disappointed that the boc arrangement was not included on the double cd

i think my wife has an entire CD of OK Computer/ Radiohead played by a string quartet. while BOC might not be quite as popular on a world scale as Radiohead (and i am selfishly just fine with that), i wouldn't doubt if a project like that is not already being considered. i can't begin to imagine how trippy Geogaddi would sound given a full symphonic interpretation.

Yes, and I have the very same Strung Out On Ok Computer cd! I can certainly imagine much of BOC's music translating well to orchestra or even a Steve Reich type ensemble of say 18 musicians. Even the drum parts in that David Horne arrangement are beautifully scored.
BTW if anyone is planning something along these lines in the London area I know a magnificent 60-piece choir. Just to hear that Ligeti choral part in Happy Cycling sung live behind an orchestral version would be incredible....

really good and well considered arrangement, but i cant help but feel the brothers arrangement was never intended to be played in this way hahaha
