found out about this dude a few months ago and my mind was blown. the guy's production work is INSANE. highly recommend checking him out. some prominent BoC influence in a few of his tracks too.

Yes! Kinda surprised there wasn't a thread on here already actually. Lapalux is great. Nostalchic has been on heavy rotation at home since it's release. There's been a lot of really strong albums released on Brainfeeder the last few years.

to the greenhorns, be wary of making a thread about an artist that's not within the IDM sphere.

Depending on the day or who's browsing the boards, it may not pick up traction.

Only really successful thread I've had is my Autechre one, and that was before the stringent rules on multiple threads about the same thing. I've had threads about other artists die on their feet

To relate that back, I would have totally made a Lapalux thread if I had thought it would have gotten some buzz instead of dying an early death. He's been one of the more exciting people in beat music and electronica recently.

His EP last year was great, and the new album expands horizons and ideas without losing the Lapalux flair. Love all the styles it covers while keeping everything inflected with his style.

Walking Words is damn near beautiful.

Thanks for sharing this, honeypower! Really really awesome stuff! I got hooked immediately and will most likely play a tune or two by Lapalux in a DJ set I got coming pretty soon.

@Nick, certainly people do care about music outside the IDM world, the stuff in the "Now Playing" thread is a definite proof. It's just that perhaps some of them - or at least me - simply don't post often enough to express the proper gratitude.

Thanks once again guys. It's always a pleasure to get introduced to music this good! Don't stop!

yesterday I heard, for the first time, a track from this producer. I think subset shared it on his facebook. Really nice track! It reminded me of James Blake.

funny just found this guy by accident the other day and have to say I'm really liking it a lot. His sense of melody and texture is really good. I'm also interested to know what he using and other than some tape cassettes it seems he maybe totally using ableton as far as I can tell.
