BoC Related and Styled art

First post on Twoism. Been listening to BoC for 9 years now. Thought I'd post some of my photos that I feel resemble the artwork revolving around the duo. The first one is a tattoo design i'm working on...

There's also the picture of which my avatar is from, which I did pretty much at the same time, but I can't seem to find the bigger version. It was not all that good though, I was just starting to learn the basics in Photoshop back then.

Also if videos count, I made one for Olson and one for Zoetrope a while back.

Every time I see the opening sequence to The Returned, I think of Music Has the Right to Children. For me the images fit perfectly. Obviously the music is different but still pretty cool it's done by Mogwai.

A friend of mine does conceptual/installation art and I suggested last year that she travel to Banff Springs, get hold of some mannequins (file off the faces!), a super8 camera, recreate the MHTRTC image in 3d, and half destroy the film before setting it to An Eagle in Your Mind! She loved the idea and this cover is so iconic I think it could work. Unfortunately it would be a budget-busting project in the current climate. Still, maybe one day.....

THANKS!!! Did you notice the Geogaddi nuclear humanity explosion over the city, thought this fitted well with the TH theme?
Love the idea of MHTRTC recreated in the "flesh"! Tricky to find mannequins with the right pose, especially the kids… I think using several cameras super8, phone, HD etc would be wise, who knows what result you'll get from the super8, good to have back up to later degrade post prod. Enjoy…!

PS I should have put Mike and Marcus's faces on the MHTRTC figures, y know just for fun…

Yeah put their faces on two of the kids, I've often wondered if its them. The one with his hands clasped looks exactly like I did at 7 or 8 (except thankfully I was blessed with a face!).
Re my artist friend: She said similar things about the poses and came to the conclusion that all models would have to be made 'bespoke' to look right - hence the projected costs just keep going up! Damn it would be amazing tho.....

I made a Dayvan Cowboy inspired screenprinted poster a few months back, currently working another 5 designs for a wee series.

Well then real people (for the 3 adults) that you mask (post prod.?) with a life sized doll for the baby and then 3 bespoke mannequins for the children… Or a mix of these, that should then lower the cost considerably!

True, but we're still talking at least a grand for the child mannequins (prob more) which would have to be sourced in Canada itself to save additional air-freight costs.
I suppose we'll have to nail down and price the entire project in time for 2018 when the album celebrates its 20th birthday, that way we might even get backing from Warp :wink:
