I went to video art exhibition the other night, and AWVFTS were playing before the night began, spoke to the guy who was controlling the music, turns out he's a massive fan of everything I am a fan of. Love it when that happens.

We just returned from the Edinburgh Film festival, and the European premier of "Breathe In" starring Guy Pearce, with an amazing cameo by Kyle MacLachlan. The film is stocked full of some new AWVFTS music + a few hits from the first record & tied all together with a lovely score by Dustin. If you like melodrama, and sleepy tunes, then good lord, please see it while you can....

Nice one, I hadn't seen that thread yet. It's funny because I stumbled across Stars of the Lid while looking for anything that sounded like Eno's An Ending (Ascent).

^^^ Correct. Although strictly speaking ..Winged Victory is only one half of them

As to this London gig, I'll have to swerve this one as I'll be incommunicado in deepest, darkest Ireland on holiday. No internet or TV either. Scary

Aye, I know, but between them they've delivered at least five (now including this one) of the best albums I've listened to over the past few years. Geniuses.

Please do try and check them out live (see above). While they don't use the huge Luke Savisky visuals that SOTL do, they're still a fantastic experience live.

Unfortunately neither A Winged Victory, SoTL or The Dead Texan have played Belfast yet, or look likely to soon, but I can always hope. It's a real shame as there's quite a few arts and music festivals here that they'd be perfect for.
