Again. Did this get a physical release or not? Maybe this CTD promo is nothing to get excited about either.

Not physical, but there's a difference between that, which was released with an official video a few weeks before the album was available, and this, which apparently has a "physical" release date months after the album dropped. Hopefully it does mean a bonus track or another video, but yea, it could be nothing.

This was just a "single" used for promotion and airplay. Could CTD just be for airplay? I don't know how the whole "single" thing works (esp. once the album is out), so not sure if this could just be a "commercial airplay" thing. God, I hope not...

Yeah I was thinking that.

The last "single" released like this was just a track off the album on a CDR, with no additional material.

Why do likewise with this tune, considering the album is already out?

The Black Dog remix could be on this one I suppose... they're names are Martin Dust and Richard Dust, & their label is Dust Science

Would be apt if nothing else!

I like Black Dog, & I'm assuming it's still them on remix duties based on Martin Dust's tweet, but I wished they'd gone for more contemporary artists rather than tried-&-tested Warp old guard.

Y'know, like James Holden (who's new album betters BoC's to my ears), FourTet, Pearson Sound to mention 3.

Anyways, let's see

Ugh *barf* that album was snooze-inducing wankery. My respect for BOC would take a nosedive if they remixed Holden, or vice versa.

As for any potential second single, New Seeds would be my pick.

If BoC are (as they hinted at in interviews) sitting on a load of material then I can't wait to hear some new stuff on this single! They should have enough material in the same vein as Tomorrow's Harvest that this will be an awesome release to be looking forward to, to go along with TH.

I'm liking this expression, and thankfully it's something I've never really experienced with BOC themselves (save perhaps for the TCHEP which I felt was getting close to the bottom of the barrel).
The trouble with a lot of electronica artists is they seem to think that if they can create some squidgy/scratchy/glitchy noises on a computer and package it in an oblique sleeve, then that somehow becomes art and is worth releasing into the world. I think this is why BOC tend to distance themselves from being tagged as 'electronica' - it's a very limiting genre.
Even if BOC didn't own a single synth, drum-machine, or plug-in they would still be making great music because they understand melody and structure. Roll on their next album made entirely on bagpipes, two ukuleles, and a kazoo :wink:

oh i dunno, i'm happy enough with that. new upstart Blawan for eg. though he's produced a few tunes i thought were good techno, his remix for Depeche Mode was imo... horrible.

Remixing BoC strikes me as a pretty pointless task when their tunes are patently not suited for the dance floor. Not heard the new Holden but The Idiots Are Winning didn't inspire confidence that he could make much of BoC. Luke Abbott would be my choice.[/img]

Always thought this had an obvious BOC influence if house can do BOC justice which I think it generally couldn't.

"Remixing" doesn't necessarily imply "for the dance floor" though. See: Odd Nosdam

Absolutely. I think it needs someone with an interesting angle to make remixing worthwhile. Personally, I would find an EP of remixes pretty boring. I would always be more interested in undiluted BoC.

Not the dance floor no thanks.

That's why I would like somebody like burial to remix something... Giving it a dark but urban twist. Would be different and stand out which may be perfect.
