Second album single 'Come To Dust'?

I don't get the burial fascination myself.

wish list remixers for me would be the haxan cloak or oneohtrix point never, or maybe even demdike stare.

I thought the odd nosdam remix was great.

but anyway....in reality i dont want remixes at all, just boards themselves is best.

I know this is off topic, but I love the nosdam remix. There are so many little clicks and whistles when everything kicks in, it just makes me so happy and emotional. Give it a listen on acid

I love Burial but I don't think his sound would bend well with that of Boards. Or, a Basefree remix could do the trick, as the soundscape is not so far removed.

An Autechre remix of some Hi Scores track would be ace too I reckon.

yes me neither, you're closing in on suitable candidates though. If theres one artist with industrial roots that this particular track could work with, it is Vatican Shadow. Come To Dust has this almost militant feel and reminds me of Vatican Shadow in many of his tracks. Take a listen to this, not San Fran but Cairo:

yes me neither, you're closing in on suitable candidates though. If theres one artist with industrial roots that this particular track could work with, it is Vatican Shadow. Buriel is 5 years ago, but Haxan Cloak, Vatican Shadow etc. would be perfect contemporary fits.

Or my favourites from the same fold, Old Apparatus. Their stuff is incredible.

Anyway, in summary, irregardless of whether the general consensus is that Holden is wanky or that Demdike Stare would produce a suitable re-jig, the fact is (to me) that Black Dog are doing a remix for some release or another.

This type of stuff they've been doing is cracking, whether "dancefloor-friendly" sits easily into your expectations of what a BoC remix should- or shouldn't-be.

Doubt they'd be permitted to go fully techno, but that is their stock-in-trade nowadays.

oh i have to jump in here and agree totally with exactly.

Techno wizard Jeff Mills keep s to his guns too, uses same palette of sounds, gear etc. so easily one can slip and become self absorbed within technology, the latest gadgets, the aspirations for the best sound out there but forgetting about the core idea. Less is certainly more, i envy artists like BOC, they're so skilled in knocking the shit out of old gear, capturing its essence and beauty. I always work by the less ones has, the better you are and inevitably the better you become, avoiding uneccessary distractions with whats going on in the world of music technology. its not what you have or need, its what you can do with it.

Come To Dust was just played on BBC Radio 6 Music. Nemone (the radio DJ) said it was the next single and would be released 26/08. It's happening!

it would be cool, but if he did it would better off if he remixed a song other than ctd. there are songs off the album that fit his style better
