Alright, I need some brutally honest feedback on these two. I've been working with tape emulators and various production methods to get them sounding the way I want but the more I listen the more I think it sounds like some wannabe BoCer ripping off their sound. I don't mean that in a conceited way as in trying to say my music is up there with BoC's - just the opposite, I don't want people to listen and think it sounds like I've watched one of those awful Youtube videos on "how to sound like Boards Of Canada in 3 clicks!"
(Both are pretty short)

Started this last night, and have put in about 6 hrs so far. I wanted to just let something flow out of me and not think about it too much. Now as I listen back to it, its pretty clear that I've been listening to ALOT of BoC lol. Still has my usual pop sound, but see if you can't hear the bros. influence...

Pacing still needs work, and I haven't started sweetening yet, but its pretty much the skeleton and muscles of the track

Dude I freaking love this. those arpeggiations are great and love the rather light but menacing touch of darkness in it.ONTHE88 wrote:Started this last night, and have put in about 6 hrs so far. Hey thanks! I really appreciate the listen. I'm also loving you instruments of flight tracks, great stuff! The arpeggiations are actually a filter gate on the bass (which is a virtual korg polysix) set to 16th notes. Then as its pulsing away, I'm releasing the cutoff so the ping pong delay I have set up can capture the higher frequencies.machinea wrote:Dude I freaking love this. those arpeggiations are great and love the rather light but menacing touch of darkness in it.ONTHE88 wrote:Started this last night, and have put in about 6 hrs so far. Nice sound design.. by the way just as an aside I got my hands on a prophet 12 yesterday. Very slick synth probably the best put together of Dave's new synth line. And thanks for looking me up and listening. I really appreciate it. My cousin and I are putting a website and label together and are about to go live with it here shortly so any new listeners and input are always welcome.ONTHE88 wrote:Hey thanks! I'm working on a song and really need someone with a noise reduction plugin so that the noise floor on my vocals disintegrate. It's the last bit in the puzzle. I'd do it myself but really can't afford the Waves Noise Reduction plugin. PM me if you're interested and let me know what plugin you're working with. There's about 4-6 layers, I believe?
