Get the number of the Goodwill Store that the Closes cassette (complete with various date modified tags) came from too.

With all due respect, I did let it go, along with everybody else.

Then another thread appears, about another tape coming from somewhere else by the same user, which also turns out to be fake.

So I guess I'm not the one regurgitating.

I don't think that kind of posting sets the level much apart from any possible trolling attempt this thread has been. We looked at the tapes and did some work to find out whether they're legit or not, and you come in to be the wise guy, no thank yous given. I'm sure we share your suspicion as much as you, but it doesn't prevent from having a look. There's much to win but not much to lose.

Honestly, I don't blame GH for being so cynical. Personally I have little patience for trolling, but I'm bumbling newbie who joined the forum because of the Cosecha puzzle, and I think the people who are emotionally invested in these tapes deserve a well-grounded response. But where there is trolling, there will be countertrolling. So let it happen.

forums are for discussion. we are talking about it. you dont have to involve yourself if you dont like it. its easy to skip over threads. i do it all the time. try it...you might be happier.

but if there are topics people wish to discuss....we will. thats why the forum is here.

[thank you to the ones that started the twoism forum]

oh and 'with all due respect'? thats just being an asshole

Apparently it's not lossless, but it's without even the minor pauses that Neuro's rip had. No idea if any edits were done to it. Sad there's no side B.
most tracks dont have gaps....you can hear the tunes crossfading into each other.

it's sweet that people here are forgiving and willing to accept shit on face value. it's one of the things i like about this place. but that sort of uncritical thinking is ripe for abuse. i know abuse is a strong word and i use it in a general sense not directed at the star of this thread, i think he might just be a goofball rather than a troll but anyways, on with the show.

What kind of uncritical thinking? Nobody here instantly claimed these rips to be legit. Instead, critical thinking was used to deduct them fake in the first place.

the fact you went to all this trouble to figure out something when it was obvious from the start how it would go, was it not naive? that's what i mean by critical thinking, you didn't employ it from the outset.

If you refer to me only, you can look at my replies in the beginning of this thread. But yes, it was naive, by decision, because it doesn't hurt to try here. Extending the possibility of the tapes being legit and going as far as paying for them would have been truly uncritical thinking and a real loss (and the sort of abuse you described), but I don't think it crossed anybody's mind. Now, all that was lost and all that could have been lost was some time.

i think GH is a bit older and i'm pushing on too. i think you become less tolerant of time wasters later on in life. no harm meant.

Indeed. If there's anything to take with me from this, it's that I won't look at the same place for the third time.

goddamn missed a trick above, replace tension with thriller and it would have been perfect.

I have no trouble admitting that I took the naive side here, but it was a choice I made; I figured I'd rather err on the side of gullibility than on the side of smugness. The worst that could happen is that some troll would laugh at me at the other end of the tube. But then again...
