Great to be able to support them, rather than support resellers, as I have done mostly....

I know..normanrecords.com has got already preorders opened. Personally I'm waiting for Amazon just because I've got free shipping 8)

Awesome. Emailed my local indie shop. Hopefully some copies trickle down to them

if these are anything like past Warp represses, they'll be pretty widespread. I wouldn't worry about non-Bleep retailers not having them or anything.

The fact that you're hearing the physical manifestation of vibrations from some esoteric machinery that few people in the world have access to and can operate is pretty flipping cool. I'd at least go to a thrift store, buy a turntable for a few bucks and give it a try. Trust me...it sounds better.

And I don't smoke. (but I do wear thick rimmed glasses)
Godspeed You Black Emperor?!?!?! ewwww. I wouldn't waste good vinyl listening time on that. If I wanted to waste time listening to some OTT, mind-numbing drivvel, I'd listen to any post-Carter US presidents' speeches :0
why do you think this reply was necessary
It's not necessary. It's internet content, though... the majority of it isn't necessary. Necessity isn't a rule for content here. Almost the opposite!

Also... as with most things you read on the internet, they should be taken with a big pinch of salt :)

GYBE though... terrible terrible band (qualify: in my humblest Snufkin opinion). I guess it's hard to play decent music when the players heads are so far up their own asses -_-

...(again, not necessary. Also, please add salt... chill :))

(maybe I just like winding up GYBE fans?)

that is the dumbest thing i've ever heard anyone say
and ive heard a lot of dumb shit on this website
Yep, that was just one of the most ridiculous things I have heard. If it's not your thing then, fair enough. I'd honestly like to hear what artists you hold in high regard (apart from the obvious) so I can say "They don't do it for me" and then you get annoyed at my lack of taste.

Since you asked:

All time <3's =

(the obvious)
John Coltrane
Nick Drake
Miles Davis
Captain Beefheart
Stan Getz
Squarepusher
Brian Eno
Augustus Pablo

As for getting annoyed: I find it inappropriate to get annoyed at things people say on the internet!

As for my quote being one of the most ridiculous things you've ever heard... have you *heard* post-Carter US presidents' speeches? :P

(...I am... winding you up, FYI).

Chill.

I like how you say, "the obvious" like this is some sort of list for music snobs or elitists.

Yeah, what he said^^. Someone earlier asked me to list some music interests aside from the obvious (meaning BoC). Hence me nodding to 'the obvious' here - meaning BoC.

Tapping out of this thread as there seems to be a lack of good humour here. Sincere apologies for whatever part of this is due to my own posts. I had just presumed we could take things with more salt pinches, humour (etc) rather than emotive and huffy back-and-forths.

Ah...my bad. It didn't read that way to me since I would have assumed as much without mention.

ha, I was tongue firmly in cheek too so don't worry (I know you're not) And as predicted and which is why I asked you to list artists, I can't say anything bad against that list haha. Carry on dude, just don't be dissing one of my favourite bands ;)

Surely, "You Could Feel The Lewinsky"

Back on topic: Bought the black vinyl version of Trans Canada EP. Just being picky now. But they're SO cheap!
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…
