Nine Inch Nails - Copy of A (new single)

Post by Jonse »

Nice synthpop track from NIN. Entirely new sound, can't really compare it to anything he's made. The closest would be like one of those tracks from The Social Network soundtrack but with lyrics. Very minimal for NIN. Sort of an electro rock thing going on with each of the tracks I've heard from this new album, excluding the one that was downbeat and more ambient.

I love when he goes minimal, he does it really well. Came Back Haunted was excellent as well, totally different feel. I get the impression this will be a greatly varied album as always.

It's strange how the song cuts out at the end as if the uploader messed up. I wonder if it has a very abrupt ending similar to the day the world went away where its rising and rising and rising to higher grounds and then stops when you least expect it or maybe the song transitions into a darker song right after.

"Why do you get all the love in the world?" vs. "I survived everything!"

Come on.

I was talking about the sound, not the lyrics.

But once this song's official lyrics are posted on NINWiki I'll show you the line from the chorus that I can't make out completely but sounds much darker than "I survived everything".

So yeah, not the first "happy" NIN song. I also feel Discipline is another "happy" sort of track, upbeat, moreso than this honestly because it doesn't have a heavy chorus to contrast with its verse.
