Any Odd Nosdam fans out there? He just put out a short EP of unreleased stuff on Soundcloud that's pretty sweet. I definitely can't wait for his new full length.

His previous band, cLOUDDEAD is what lead me to the BoC. Haven't looked back since.

Fucking adore Odd Nosdam, been a fan of cLOUDDEAD for years. Check out Reaching Quiet if you haven't already, or The Split EP he did with Why? back in 2001. If you like cLOUDDEAD you will most likely enjoy both!

I really dig the new/unreleased album he just released..haven't fully absorbed it yet! Also love his remix of BMSR's "Windshield Smasher"

Thats awesome! Its always interesting how we come across our favorite artists. I began as a HUGE Aesop Rock fan some years ago and Purchased one of his early albums, Float, where I came across the track Drawbridge ft. Doseone. From there I researched into dose and started listening to cLouddead and other Anticon/lex artists and ultimately ended up at Boards of Canada. But initially, Odd Nosdams style gave me my first taste of that nostalgic sound.

Awesome! I'd definitely recommend listening to their self-titled debut, very boardsy at points actually. Definitely a grower though so be sure to stick with it, could very well be my favourite hip-hop album in general. Sometimes i doubt whether cLOUDDEAD are hip-hop at all though.

That's actually the b-side to the tape, which is in fact just the whole a-side reversed. Here is the a-side:

He calls it the "Haunted, drum-lost remains of a failed follow up to my 2007 LP, Level Live Wires"

Elsewhere he's referred to it as "a dedication..."

Interesting. He and Jel produced much of Serengeti's output recently, including the Kenny Dennis EP and LP.

I fucking love Nosdam.

Odd Nosdam is dope. I love most of the Anticon collective. Saw Why? and Themselves live which was pretty badass. I've always loved cLOUDDEAD's stuff as well. that BoC Good Friday remix though...damn.

I haven't heard enough of his stuff to be totally aware of all the things he is doing to his rhythms but some of the aliasing grit is directly from the sp1200. You can hear it on some of bibio's stuff like his sunday filter house.. you can really hear it at the 2:18 mark

In any case he may further destroy it in other ways and then compress. But there is a lot of great software compression as well.

Yeah, I noticed the day after I posted it that it was actually backwards. What's funny is that I listened to it and somehow didn't notice, I just thought it was more of his noise material. Apparently it's on a limited edition cassette which is sold out but still available in a package with some other cassettes.

basically created an account here to chime in on this thread. I'm Kevin and I co-run BARO Records with a couple other guys. We are all super excited to see that the word is getting out there and people are digging TRISH. We are all huge BOC fans here at BARO. I just got a used vinyl copy of Twoism in at the record store I work at (Reckless downtown Chicago), thus completing my BOC vinyl discography

It was dusty as hell, with the white DJ sleeve covered in weird brown stains, but I ran the disc through our in-house VPI cleaning machine and hand washed the cover with a bit of water and it looks beautiful. Real excited about the LP reissues, I will most likely re-buy Geogaddi and Music Has The Right just to have sealed copies (just in case!)
But yeah, any questions you have about BARO, feel free to ask. I'll be around. Also, if you're in the Chicago area, we are throwing a killer showcase at the Empty Bottle friday the 23rd with Matthewdavid, Odd Nosdam, Serengeti, Bre'r, Ant'lrd, and Calidonia County. Shits gonna be sick!

I'm a huge fan. Bre'r's OLSB Music No. 1 is something I've listened to non stop for the past year and a half.

What is the story of BARO? My first exposure was Dhome Herder via Nosdam a few years ago, and I've always been curious.

I'm always glad to spread the word of Odd Nosdam and all the Anticon players. Nosdam is definitely one of my favorite music makers and I can't wait until his new LP drops. I will definitely be checking out the rest of the BARO label as well. Thank you sir.

yeah youtube will do that to the sound. You can hear the aliasing of the sp1200 which is what that post was primarily about regarding the tools that are used but Bibio isn't particularly known for over compressing his stuff ya know? He is also using a filter.
