If I can remember I discovered MBV and Slowdive pretty much on the same day. I wish I could go back and listen to Only Shallow and Machine Gun for the "first time".

Those are the two songs that introduced me to those two bands too (I think so anyway, they're at least the first two that really, really blew my mind). I think I must've been about 14 or something; got there through Smashing Pumpkins, Final Fantasy VII, and a vague knowledge of a couple of dream-pop / shoegaze bands...
