They don't flow together, but it's suggested that tracks 10-17 on TH are musical reprises of tracks 1-8, while "Collapse" itself is perfectly palindromic.

Also, a lot of the early releases (Old Tunes, etc.) have songs that are gapless.

someone pointed out in the uritual thread that the really quiet thing you can hear at the start is the end of the fade out of jacquard causeway.

REALLY weird and cool assuming the bros didnt just accidentally leave it in, and even then that makes you wonder how they originally sequenced the lp

Wasn't that taken from a BoC interview? They confirmed "Come to Dust" is a musical reprise of "Reach For the Dead."

I think they were referring more to the chord progression, things like that, more so than the actual sound. If that makes any sense at all.

Maybe. I don't have any musical training so I'd have a hard time recognizing any particular chord progressions in either song.

Dunno, but I'm actually notice some little links in TH, first is JC start to ''kick in'' at the end of White Cyclosa, and another one is Transmisiones Ferox final melody which leads nicely in to Sick Times

In terms of the musical reprisals on TH:

Reach for the Dead = Come to Dust
JC = Uritual

and I believe Sundown has hints of Sick Times' chord progression, maybe just played in a slightly different order, but definitely the same vibe.


I can't confirm that last one, but I know for sure that RFTD+CTD and JC+Uritual are actual musical reprisals.

Anyway, on topic, the ultimate has to be Bocuma -> Roygbiv which you mentioned, OP.

Come To Dust links into itself...well, that's a lie really - not really linking into itself, but play the forward over the reverse of it (no aligning required) and you're in for a treat.

I spent some my free time listening to fade-ins and fade-outs on TH trying to see whether there is something hidden. Here's what I got:

Summary:

1. Most of the tracks end with some kind of static noise, which should have been done intentionally. I understand this fact in a way that the tracks are "transmissions", or radio signals that come from nowhere and then get buried in the radio static.

2. Some tracks do link into each other, but in most cases the transitions are barely audible because they are defined only by super-tiny "leftovers" at the start of such tracks as "White Cyclosa" or "Sundown". The only decent links are "Cold Earth" + "Transmisiones Ferox" and "Jacquard Causeway" + "Uritual" (there is a small portion of JC synth at the start of Uritual; when combined, tracks flow into each other gaplessly).

3. Some tracks are connected to each other via static noise, some are not. Not sure if this can mean something, but the noise is definitely not an artefact or some unintentional defect.
