it's a nice one but doesn't top the gyroscope one that won the watmm contest several years ago, imho.

btw this one could have used some more and better syncing as well; that's how I feel about it anyways.

are you foreal? the gyroscope one is just images!!! not only that, but it was always one of my least favourite videos. there's no contest IMO. can i get a witness here?

I've never seen the WATMM video befor and I agree ross, its too in your face "here are some images of boccish stuff, look some triangles, crazy mathematical equations and some other stuff". I can think of alot more creative ideas to go with that track.

As for the one posted I think is great, one of the best I've seen yet, thanks.

I think it's worthy to mention that BoC themselves chose the winning video from the WATMM-contest and they chose that Gyroscope one because it matched the idea of their track to the fullest of how they would've done it.

It's indeed nothing out of the ordinary but it works! And it's perfectly synced with the music. I think it's one of the best vids out there.

i agree that the gyroscope vid is beter than the kid for today one seen here but i must say my all time favorite has been the melissa juice video full of old videos...

oh and if you havent seen, try searching happy cycling on youtube cause theres on vid of 'girls exploring eachother'....its basically really funny

I love the moving fractals in that video... I've been trying to create some fractals myself using various freeware programs, but I've had no luck... math is not my "thing"

I can see how the Gyroscope video one, since one of the BoC guys said that song was born out of a dream he had, so as far we know, the guy who put the video together hit the nail on the head.

well. I enjoyed the video because in certain parts it's how 'I' would perceive kid for today. BoC chose the gyroscope video to win because 'they' liked it, and thought it suited the track so, i suppose what it boils down to is choice. but just because they chose that video, dosen't make it aesthetically, or visually superior to any other video that was enetered. and if you think about it, if mike and marcus had chosen a white screen for 4 minutes, you'd probably be saying that it's great too.

fair enough, the kid for today video has scattered foootage throughout, but some of it is interesting footage, and it's footage!........... the part where the girl is dancing played backwards fits the music very well with the tambourines and shuffled rhythm. and where the synth comes in at around 5:04 and it shows the old guy pulling a ghoulish face, it's also very fitting. it may not be the best fan video ever made, but it's better than most (especially gyroscope)

Well i like the " Kid For Today " video more than the " Gyroscope " one! Like ross adey said " it may not be the best fan video ever made, but it's better than most (especially gyroscope). "

I think it is way easy for people to sit on their computer and surf the net for random images and paste the song and images in windows media player. I mean I guess it is just for fun I do that too and thats cool. But for a contest, yeah right. Go out and script something out and use real footage. The kid for today one is cool though.

I agree with Fredd-e, the syncing isn't very good on this video.

There's one that somebody did for "Over The Horizon Radar" that I thought was very well done. Bunch of shots on a beach and whatnot. Very simple, yet classy - the way a Boards video should be.

With "Kid For Today," I always picture images from wooded areas, birds and lakes inside my head. So that's certainly what I think the prime basis of the video should be centered around.

Kid For Toady is not a psychedelic track, it's extremely minimal and down-tempo, so I really wouldn't expect there to be any psychedelic images in a video for it, like how this one started out.

Since BoC's music is very versitile and everyone has their own images with boc, its hard to make a video to boc I guess. Since so many people have different views on the way they see the song.

Like for instance, When I think of gyroscope, I think of a gyroscope whriling around, with red vivid colors and showing images that resemblance things like The Wicker Man (a remake of this movie? wtf? are they really hungy for money?) and I think this is the track that makes the album cover.

I think it has been said before ( I think) that when BoC released dayvan cowboy it kinda ruined the track slightly, since they seen the offical video.

not sure what the ending point is, lol.
