Nabbed my first ever, hazy, wobbly, low-to-the-horizon look at Saturn through the 'scope tonight.

Jealous mate, bet that was an experience. Have you checked out the Orion nebula yet?

This is an 18inch Dobsonian so obviously a lot clearer than smaller scopes, but how awesome does that look!

It's even amazing with a pair of crappy binoculars. All you have to do is put your mind in the right space.

Yup - the Orion Nebula looks incredible through it, although an 18" Dob is going to show it a damn sight better than my 8" does. (Matron).

Really got me stoked to get out into a PROPER dark sky site now. My back garden is pretty good - well away from street lights, but it's not the same as the middle of the New Forest / Purbecks.

Oh YES! I too remember seeing saturn for the first time through my telescope! It was awesome!

I love to watch the rings twist/tilt/change! (When seeing it over the course of days-nights/weeks/months.) It's so hard to find Saturn with my old, cheap telescope but when/if I find it, it's always worth the search!
