sooo I've heard from like 2 or 3 people that Boards of Canada was flown to Australia via Intertia to play a secret live event in Melbourne. can anyone here confirm this?

im not saying its a fact im just looking for some answers myself. i finally got to the source of this information and it was written in the youtube comments of the full warp 10 live show.

now that i know the only place this information exists is in the youtube comments of a video i am very unconvinced... also the user said it happened last Tuesday so im pretty sure that news would have gotten here by now...

It's ok - you won't be the first (or last) to buy this kind of thing. I recall several other examples and I've wanted to believe every single one of them

If this did happen then the venue mentioned (The Toff, Melbourne - looks like a hipsters paradise to me) have kept it super-quiet. The guy on YouTube talks about 'last Tuesday' which could either be the 3rd or 10th of Sept. The 10th had a gig by someone who makes no mention of any special guests etc, again either before or after on their own website, FB, etc and the 3rd simply had a poster from the venue of upcoming events. Again, no coded messages, no hints, even afterwards.

The only other thing that could make some sort of sense - it you want to stretch the semantics a little - would be that they were flown in 'last Tuesday' but haven't played yet.

All in all, this stinks of BS to me. Still, one day. One day...

To be fair, I'm not so sure any of this is his 'job' per se. Anything he cares to comment on I'd imagine he does of his own volition and I'm grateful for any information he shares with us. I'll wager that shouting the odds at him ain't likely to get a positive reply.

this is youtube comments, the most unreliable source of information in the world, give us more than that. A confirmation from the right people, a picture, a ticket, anything than just your word.

I have a friend who works for a music shop here in Australia, JB HI-FI. He went to a music convention two weeks ago and were told by Inertia themselves that they paid BOC to come play an extremely secret show at The Toff. Only people in the distribution companies knew of this, not the public.
