Where is the link to the 'woah' track again? Perhaps I'm being dense but I can't find it in the thread...

Absolutely off topic but could someone point me to the best download of Random 35 Track Tape?

I've considered BoC to be my favorite band for two years and listened to them before that, and I still haven't listened to it. Lucky me? We'll find out.

Sure is unlikely ;)
this was posted by boc in 2011

this was in that guys set from 2008 -
i can clear this up, since that's my flickr set. i rephotographed that image from an old NFB video (can't recall the name of it now) back in 2002. around the same time i noticed that there was a similar shot of the same image on the BOC website. i guess we both had access to the same film.

i noticed right away that the orphel binuswade youtube account used two of my images, which seems like something BOC wouldn't do . . .

Yeah that youtube account is definitely a hoax.

The last.fm discoveries, on the other hand.... I'm convinced sandrail is legit. But I thought How Will I Know was legit so who knows :s

yeah the "how will i know" remix was the closest i've ever come to believing a fake, i think. but two things preventing me from being fully convinced:

- it's not *quite* up to par with "midas touch" and "trapped."
- the first chorus is slightly out of sync with the beat (the vocals are, annoyingly, just a little bit ahead of where they should be, in a manner which doesn't seem to be intentional.)

but otherwise it's pretty great. its dumb when people try to pass of actually decent music as a fake track from another (more famous) band, since then we seldom get to find out who *actually* made the music. and even if we do find out, their reputation has already been tarnished by the attempted forgery.

there is, of course, the very remote possibility that it *is* a legit track and BOC are just choosing to disown it (via mdg) because they're now embarrassed by it. i wouldn't rule that out given the aphex-style self-fictionalizations they've been prone to in the past . . .

it's also a bit like: http://youtu.be/ejOLTX3Vpsc

Ah, nice! Great set of pictures man. This set inspired me to do some of my own a while back, but of more well known films. Are you still selling prints at all?

Would you be so kind to explain why the misc. confirmed tracks .zip doesn't work?
Or rather a list of tracks on what was included on it?

Pretty sure I have every other random single heavily engrained in my head at this point. Just want to be sure I'm not missing out.

Tracks included were things like remixes but most of them are available for sale so it is neither moral nor legal to continue distributing them. :)

Luckily I'm only human. I had my doubts wether to post it. That's why it took a while before you saw it on bocpages. Now I wish I hadn't posted it in the first place. But in the end that's just part of running a fan site and trying to keep on top of things, even rumors which turn out to be fake. It's not the end of the world. ;-)
The perks of trying to stay on top of the news world too...Ahh, your post echos my sentiments exactly. *hi-fives Fredd-E* Let's head on down to the pub, I hear they're playing a nice Whitney Houston remix somewhere. ;)

wash wrote:yeah that woah track is super weird. it also sounds absolutely nothing like boards of canada, though they have used that cut-up vocal method before i guess. is there any way you can find out who uploaded it?

I don't know why people aren't more interested in this. Maybe there have been too many false alarms lately but this last.fm mystery is still intriguing to me. There seems to be a connection between the dude who uploaded the Sandrail song and BoC, however fuzzy it may be. Perhaps it will just be another dead end like redmoon..
sandrail = definitely not.
too sloppy. haphazard keys. even bocs loosest track is tighter than that. no matter what level of record. im talking performance and over all quality.

Luckily I salvaged the two tracks. I want to believe.
Now we should decode the titles, even for the heck of it.
The question is how?

Why would you think it's real at this point?
