BoC Jazz covers

Post by naicob »

Not sure if there is already a thread on this, but if not-- What are your favourite Jazz covers of BoC? Any you'd like to share?

I know of a few:

Roygvib - I first heard it a couple of years ago and loved it immediately. They succeeded in making the original their own, and in a cool way. Not my kind of Jazz exactly, but as a Jazzy BoC hybrid I find it pretty fucking awesome.

Turquoise Hexagon Sun - I really like the effort here-- shows off some of the complexity of the original really well. Great job by whoever the guy is.

Alpha and Omega - I didn't really enjoy this one too much, kinda uninspired IMHO.

I would love to hear more.

Hah, the Turquoise one is me. You should replace that link with the one in my sig, that's the real deal with a band. I've posted that here before. There's one on youtube of me doing 5-9-78 on solo piano though, which I don't think I ever shared here.

Aside from that, I don't know of any others. And trust me, I've looked.

Figures I'd find the culprit here lol. Great rendition. I like the piano best.

Why not? I've played it on tenor sax.
Jesus, was it you indeed?
To flirt unkindly with my greed
Promising eternal life
When you knew it was not right?
When you knew that what I'd need was willingness and comfort there
