That is interesting, considering that some of his Facebook posts seem like he's half in the bag. Also the only time I've seen him live he constantly had a drink in his hand when it wasn't occupied with a guitar.

The only thing I can think of (and this is a huge long shot) is that when I met him about 18 months ago after a Winged Victory gig, I was slightly sozzled. May have done my gushing-fanboy routine (not big, not clever). S(h)urely he wouldn't remember this??

Could be. I doubt it's anything serious, probably just his Trademark Adam Wiltzie Snarkiness.

I travelled up to Reading last night to see them in a splendidly tiny venue (about 125 capacity), and they were absolutely excellent.

The setup is the duo plus a string quintet, and they played for around an hour an twenty mins. The new material for Atomos came across extremely well although as they confessed themselves it needs a bit more rehearsal.

Yeah, just saw them. Amazing! Small intimate church venue - good acoustics. Adam signed a SOTL CD for me

The new Atmos material is very good - looking forward to it hopefully getting a recorded release.

I'd somewhat naively made the assumption that'd it'd obviously be released. Certainly hope so... Would definitely like to see the performance proper of Atmos now.

I took the head staggers and booked a last minute flight and hotel to see them in Gateshead last night. I liked the new stuff, there was a few interesting samples and un-droney bass bits, melodies not as distinctive as the album stuff, but that's maybe just hearing them for the first time. The album tunes they did just blew me away.
The contrast between Adam Wiltzie's gentle strumming of his guitar and the sounds coming from it is something to behold.
Fantastic gig, so glad I made the effort.

^ the Sage is a fantastic venue. Seated, so atmosphere might not suit all gigs, but the acoustics are great and it's a stunning building inside and out. Spiritualized were incredible there a year or so ago.

The Sage is pretty spectacular, the external structure from the inside reminded me of a curvy Stanstead Airport, while the internal structures look like the Guggenheim in New York, all beautifully lit. The show was in Hall 2, with a capacity of, i'd guess, a couple of hundred, which felt intimate, but great sound. All seated and all very civilised. I was up on the balcony and it was fascinating being able to watch what was happening on stage with the array of equipment and effects.
How was your holiday?

Great thanks! Technically still on it. Just had a lovely final evening in Dublin, downing Guinness in The Long Hall just off Temple Bar. Back to Blighty tomorrow

Yeh I was at the Sage on Friday sat in Level 2, amazing stuff met the guys after and got them to sign the record for me..... By any chance did you have a blue BOC t-shirt on?
