What the fuck did I just watch? That was terrible, awkwardly filmed, badly themed and generally pointless. I don't think any track would improve this, but the pace of RFTD is just wrong for this mindless clip, he looked so out of place and the stupid clothes changing, what was that all about? Seems like the guy would only do all that if they DID have a BoC song, cos he's a fan. I think they shouldn't have listened to him and he shoulda stayed out of it, if, I suspect, this is the case. Grrrrrrrr!

I'm pretty sure some of those were done by their incredibly talented director friend Chris Cunningham so I don't know if the comparison is valid.

How do we know BoC aren't friends with the talented Brian Anderson?

In this picture Mike is wearing a Zero skateboards cap. Zero Skateboards was set up by Jamie Thomas. Both Jamie Thomas and Brian Anderson skated on the same Toy Machine team in the late 90's:

Mike's obviously a skateboarding fan and Marcus goes snowboarding, so why not let a skate company use their music? It's a lot less sell out than BMW, Mercedes and Nissan commercials imo

nope, i agree, does not fit at all. ah well i guess its moola yet i'd have thought they'd

No, but seriously: SELL-OUTS!!!!
id agree with the nike connection, otherwise no but this does change my mind on a few things regarding what they apparently stand for, TH and all its related concepts.

not good, but sure what the heck, it seems they're not that serious about it or are they?

i know they've got to eat but nike? something like the Red Cross or Unicef would have been more appropriate or perhaps no money in it? charity and all that?

Brian Anderson is a good skater, remember him from the Toy Machine days.
Boards of Canada are sell outs for letting Nike use a track?
Their music has been used in BMW, Mercedes and Nissan commercials ffs!

Sellouts? Do y'all really think this was just about making a quick buck? I don't get the feeling that they say yes to many licensing requests.

who cares if it fits, most adverts are a big pile of dog turd anyway, I'm hoping someone will be sat at home baked, hear the song, investigate and stumble onto something beautiful! I've discovered tonnes of amazing music through adverts

Look at Mike here smiling cheekily and wearing a pair of Converse.

Guess who own/make converse?

Clue: It rhymes with Mike.

Deal with it. We all passively support evil on a daily basis. It's unavoidable.

I was not offended by the film. However, any other song would have worked just as well. Perhaps something a little more upbeat would have worked better.

Upon further contemplation, I find it ironic. If they did indeed agree to allow a track of theirs to appear in an advert for a monolithic capitalistic corporation that is guilty of human atrocities like child labor, then they have successfully expressed an idea that, for me, was one of the main points behind the Tomorrow's Harvest album - The idea that we are on a course that might be too late to change. A course with unintended consequences or side effects. We all need clothing, food, shelter. What do we have to do to get it?

Cool!

As much as this song doesn't fit the theme of the video, I'm glad that BOC are gettin their rep up :)

And BOC's music, to me at least (and it seems to be apparent in interviews) that they are fans of the whole skating scene...BMX, Boarding...and a lot of their music totally does fit. Its just...they didn't get this video right ya know? :/

It's a shame too. Just think how much more affordable they'd be.

... oh i think you'll still be charged full greedy whack, it's a shame for the car makers, if
they could they would. look at Apple. expensive no? made for a two thirds less.
course profit needs to be made, trouble is once they reach it, they can't handle going back
to expensive labour, so boot the price up to balance out what they've been used to.

i'm actually sceptical of all these osx updates on my machine, is there any way not to update after restart? what are these updates doing to the hardware? slowing it down is one thing. the money spin again. its gotten worse i think, shit don't last anymore. die date fully enabled the day you buy it. good machines but dont last as long anymore, all intended of course.

i think i'll go back to 2001
