Yeah, I'm not much of a cryer. Sober at least. That said, obvious choices for "hair on end nervous system going crazy due to some emotional something or another" would be

Low - Lust
Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus
King Crimson - Epitaph
Cocteau Twins - Know Who You Are At Every Age
Dead Can Host - Host of Seraphim (especially that last part with the descending vocal melody. chillbumps every time)
My Bloody Valentine - Lose My Breath

and weirdly, I teared up briefly to Semena Myrtvykh...the static version. Probably because I spent two years in a borderline existential crisis after thinking about environmental issues and the future of humanity. Fukushima didn't help, and seeing BoC go doomy really hit me in the gut.

Bridge over troubled water always gets me. It's one of the purest love songs that ever existed, not just romantic love, but all kinds of love. Someone sang this for me once, and I wish I could sing it to someone right now

Yeah that's the one! Those vocal trills are tear-enducing. On movie Baraka, that song is associated with people from 3rd world countries living in garbage. Makes it even more heart-breaking.
Btw, the name of the band is Dead Can Dance. I don't think they ever released anything else as powerful as this.

Returning I & II from "A Blessing of Tears" by Robert Fripp almost moved me to tears couple of times. I rarely listen to the whole album because of its mood. Same with the piece called "On My Mother's Birthday", very ambiguous: frightening and beautiful at the same time. Also:

Bjork: Pagan Poetry/Aurora/Harm of Will...well, actually everything she sings on "Vespertine".

There's couple of others, particularly moving pieces of music:

Zbigniew Preisner's Lacrimossa from Requiem For My Friend (dedicated to desceased Polish film director and friend, Krzysztof Kieślowski). Also made popular by Terrence Malick's film Tree Of Life with all that amazing Douglas Trumbull visual work in the "birth of creation/life/the universe sequence.

Powerful stuff.

When Logics Die by Soulwax. Was driving up to Newcastle back in January to see my dying Mum, less than 24 hours after being told she was dying. This is the third track on the Much Against Everyone's Advice album and when the strings kicked in around 2:35 the tears were coming down so hard I almost had to pull over as I could barely see. It will always take me back to how I felt then, which is both a bad and a good thing.

For similar reasons, this version of Videotape by Radiohead will forever be 2 days before she passed away. As I said at the time, Thom said it better than I ever could.
