Shame the album seems to have been poorly pressed. The other two are great.
replace with what? surely the entire pressing lot is bad? unless it depends, each day
the pressings can change if not all done at once, i dunno how it works in those places.

i'll see how it goes with the replacements, seems a lot of people are noticing it though which makes
me think, the replacements from same stock won't make much difference.

Got mine today, upon visually inspecting TCH D side is pretty obvious that something wrong is going in there. Don't want to get depressed right now, saturday morning i'll give it a good listen and call Warp if I feel like it isn't acceptable.

Listenign to MHTRTC and i'm not impressed at all. Just feel like hanging those on a wall and forget that Warp messed up so badly.

EDIT: Am I going nuts or is the first vinyl of MHTRTC a bit off centre?

Pro-Ject Debut Esprit with acrylic platter + Cambridge Audio SR10 + Audio Technica ATH-M50 and I've listened to enough vinyl to know when something isn't right.

Mine is pressed off centre too - obviously the quality control on these hasn't been great. I would shrug it off, but off centre pressings tend to wear weirdly over time.

I can accept lightly warped vinyl, some clicks and pops (it's really hard to judge where it comes from, the medium, some element in the hi-fi chain, the weather, divine intervention, etc.), but off centre records? This is beyond amateurish. There is no acceptable excuse for Warp to sell off centre copies of a fundamental record like MHTRTC. This borders scamming.

I'm listening to Geogaddi right now and only needed half of Ready Let's Go to realize that this pressing has nothing to do with MHTRTC. New cut and a german plant, is it that hard? I don't mind paying more, I just want some decent vinyl pressing.

EDIT: TCH side A/B goes directly to my top3 of warped vinyl. Lots of clicks everywhere and Ataronchronon is skipping, this is just ridiculous. Also interesting, on the few continuous seconds that this is playable the sounds seems pretty solid.

I've only listened to MHTRTC so far (some light hiss on Olson, but I was listening for it so I'm not too peeved), but.. you guys are making me scared to try out the rest..

If it wasn't for Geogaddi being near flawless and sounding really good, as it should, on all three vinyls I would thought that the rumble/hum I was hearing was from my system, but nope, as soon as Geogaddi started it was clear who messed up.
My side E/F of Geogaddi is noticeably warped, but A/B of TCH can be even worse.

MHTRTC/Geogaddi sound excellent by me. But this TCH issue is becoming kind of awkward if you ask me...

I'm starting to wonder if I should pick up TCH at all. I was planning on buying it from my local record shop this weekend, not through bleep. I really don't want to hassle with trying to replace one of the records. My MHTRTC and Geo are flawless and arrived the day of release from amazon, but I'm not sure if that luck will extend to TCH.

At this point if you haven't bought TCH I would wait and see if bleep/warp straighten this situation out.

On another listen through Geogaddi I'm getting some serious distortion on Julie & Candy, 1969, The Beach At Redpoint etc.. awful.

Photo? I think I know what you're referring to and I've seen it on loads of vinyl, not just these reissues.

In other news, I had my usual email from Juno records this week, in which they plugged the reissue. Interestingly, they only mentioned MHTRTC and Geogaddi, NOT Campfire. I wonder if that's just a coincidence, or are they aware of the issue too.

Have to say, this is such a shame. This was a great opportunity for Warp, but the silence from them is deafening..
