This sounds to me like inner groove distortion and can be created by a variety of factors from poor pressings to miscalibrated cartridges, needle types etc. I don't think there's any easy way to diagnose what is creating the problem though.
the vinyl was played on my friend's turntable - he's a total audiophile nerd who's extremely precise and meticulous about cartridges and needles. he also took the record to a high-end hi fi stereo shop in town and played it there with the store's owner to see if they could trouble shoot the problem but nothing worked. so it's unlikely that the distortion is cause by anything other than a manufacturing defect. furthermore we played the 2013 and 2002 pressings back to back on the same soundsystem and the distortion was only present on the 2013.
Well I finally had an opportunity to listen to my records on a high end, well calibrated turn table with a super nice cartridge. I'm having the same issue, primarily on corsair on Geogaddi and A is to B/Horizon both TCH albums have issues with distortion and a decent warp at the beginning of side a/b of TCH. Quite a few of the pressings have really rough edging from where the cuts were made. I've never felt albums so rough around the edges literally. anyway looks like I'm up for w new geogaddi disk and an entire tch replacement as far as I can tell. disappointed but not surprised given everyone else's issues.

Got to listen to the Twoism and IABPOITC reissues today.

Didn't hear any issues, but didn't had a chance to go through all of them fully.

The sticker sheet included with IABPOITC is very nice. 15 stickers with artwork from the release.

A copy of Twoism has arrived today.. Isn't that way too early?

Nope, release date is tomorrow in Ireland, Monday in UK. Pre-orders usually sent a few days early.

Sat at work for another 20 mins. Had a call from Mrs Mexicola to say Trans Canada has arrived. The FINAL piece in my BOC-vinyl jigsaw puzzle.

See excited I could wee.

IABP EP sounds great.

Hadn't listened to the original in years so I can't tell if there's much difference in the pressing but each track sounds amazing on this reissue.
