Boards of Canada Animated Logo Compilation

Post by Nimbus »

Hey fellow BoC lovers!

I figured that people who are obsessed with BoC as much as I am can appreciate this. BoC is my favorite band, I've listened to them since adolescence. So, I'd like to say hello to you all with a little animation project I've been working on.

To celebrate the 2013 BoC vinyl reissues and as a personal project, I decided to animate BoC logos to their music. I animated them using Flash and After Effects, the whole thing took around a month to create. This is my first major animation project and it was really fun to make, enjoy! Best viewed in 1080p for quality, but if you want that low quality aesthetic feel free to pick lower resolutions:

Songs used in order:
Gemini
Red Moss
Dayvan Cowboy
Alpha and Omega
Oscar See Through Red Eye
a is to b as b is to c [Live at ATP] -
Poppy Seed (Reprise)

Critique is suggested!

Thanks for all the kind words everybody! I scoured the internet for as many official BoC logos I could find. If you guys have some more logos that I haven't found yet and would like me to animate them to certain songs, feel free to suggest some! I love animating! :D

These are all incredible. ESPECIALLY the Trans-Canada Highway, Geogaddi, and Oscar See Through Red Eye ones.

Also, where are you in Florida? I think we're like the only two Floridians here..

I'm from the Cape Coral / Ft. Myers area, but right now I'm attending my senior year at the University of Miami. I'm majoring in Biology and Film, but I just do this kind of animation on the side as a hobby.

Very nice.

Had never heard that live version of A is to B before, since I haven't listened to all of the live material. Gave me chills. Always like that part of the track on Geogaddi. Amazing to hear that extended bit of it.

EDIT: Actually it's more like an extended version of part of Sixtyniner.

The Geogaddi one is absolutely mind-blowing! I was and still am amazed by it. Very creative use of the logos.
