I got this email as well.Mr? wrote:Hi there
We are sorry you have experienced issues with your pressing of The Campfire Headphase.
Warp and the manufacturing partner have identified a problem occurring late in the repress run of The Campfire Headphase resulting in a small percentage of the pressings being below our usual quality standards. Resolving this for future pressings and making sure that the replacement copy that we send you is perfect is going to take a few weeks.
We expect to be able to despatch a new copy of the record to you by mid December.
We apologise for this delay and will keep you up to date with any progress.

while it shouldn;t have happened, I can't fault Bleep in their customer service. Looks like new pressing of TCH in the offing.....
update from Bleep to me today-

As for your copy of Geogaddi, we are able to replace this sooner. Your new copy should be dispatched within 2-3 days.

Got replacement copies of Geogaddi & MHTRTC in the post today. Geogaddi still has that horrid distortion 'Corsair'.. MHTRTC sounds fine (bar Smokes Quantity which has this weird dusty distortion) but the records are still pressed off centre which I had originally complained about to Bleep.
Serious lack of quality control. Not happy.

Anyone got an issue with their copy of Trans Canada Highway?
Just listened to mine and there's a regular pronounced click on side B, starting somewhere in the middle of Skyliner and ending towards the end of the Dayvan Cowboy remix.
I've waited years for this last piece of BOC vinyl to complete my collection. Totally gutted.

Ah don't worry if you're busy mate. Yeah I want some official word from Bleep, this is not on. Though to be fair, the only issue I have had is with TCH.

Mine has the same problem! Trans Canada Highway was pressed at the same plant as The Campfire Headphase. Not unimpressed.Mexicola wrote:Anyone got an issue with their copy of Trans Canada Highway?

So my copy of TCH is being replaced by Bleep. One side of MHTRTC was replaced, but it's really not that much better.
Today I received my copies of the EP reissues, but Trans Canada and Twoism have the SAME problems, probably even worse than TCH and MHTRTC. Really bad surface noise issues which are made worse because the record is pressed off centre..
My copy of Twoism has been pressed so badly that there is a jagged edge round the outside of the vinyl.
Geogaddi and A Beautiful Place sound GREAT besides the very end of each record. Corsair and Zoetropes are both distorted in parts.
Totally gutted by all of it.

I just don't get how they could muck this up so royally?? The number of issues that are being raised suggests there's been a staggering lack of quality control involved and the whole thing is starting to leave a bad taste in the mouth.
Come on Warp / Bleep - isn't it time for some kind of formal statement on all this - standard emails aside? The replacements people have received thus far don't seem to be much better. It sounds like there might be a re-press going on but if they couldn't get the quality right when the pressure was off, why would a rush-job turn out any better? Are you changing supplier??
I'm not expecting the earth, but communication is the key to managing complaints, so please, start talking to us - what has gone wrong and what are you doing to put it right???
MDG - can you shed any light on any of this at all?
Thanks - 'disappointed of Dorset' (adds standard Daily Mail moaning-bastard signoff for comedy value)

Yeah there has gotta be something official announced. I personally am massively pissed off this great event has been tarnished. SO many people have been waiting ages for this to happen and now it's ruined. Are Bleep keeping it on the low to maximise profits? It's disgusting. They must've made SO much money off this as well. What can we do though? If you get a replacement, what is the point if it's a dodgy pressing again.
It's that same plant which pressed TCH - 'The Vinyl Factory' - I've heard bad things about them with other albums they handled. They must be cheap.
What can we do though? I kinda want a total repressing of these, surely the Brothers/Warp aren't happy about this.
My guess is Noel mastered it all perfectly, but some numpty at the plant manually increased the gain when the pressing was being dealt with. Amateur to be honest. Really poor.
EDIT: Just sent a scathing email to Bleep. Hopefully I can get a straight answer this time.

Yeah, not only is there some clicky noise in my records, but both of my copies of "Twoism" and "Trans Canada Highway" actually SKIP and get stuck, in both cases on the first track on Side B. For both of these, Side A plays fine, even though they aren't entirely clean of some noise. I'd tolerate some mild rough noise, but skipping is unacceptable for a new release, to me. I looked at these closely under a bright light, and there are a bunch of little jagged, deep scratches all around the area where the tracks skip. I sent an email to Bleep about it. Hope they can replace this soon, since I was really looking forward to this. Actually, since I don't make that much money, this purchase was a big deal to me, so having bum copies like this is a real disappointment.Mexicola wrote:Anyone got an issue with their copy of Trans Canada Highway?

^^ Likewise on the £££ front. I couldn't really afford to buy the 2x records I did (Trans Canada and I also replaced my old copy of MHTRTC) and I'd have saved my money if I'd known this shambles was likely.
OK, deep breath...
I guess we won't hear anymore from Bleep until Monday at the earliest and they deserve the right to reply. I'm guessing there are more than a few people feeling a lot sicker about this than we are. Somebody's proverbial nuts will be in a vice over this, I'm sure and I certainly don't envy them. Anyone can make a mistake though, so let's give them the chance to put it right.
Over to you Bleep / Warp.
