Excellent work; these are really nice spins on the logos.

If I'm looking for a thing to critique... Sometimes, less is more. It depends what you were going for. The plain logo replications from the sources are spot on, so the only thing that takes me out of it feeling truly BOC is that some of the animations are a little too polished - the use of some effects, too glossy - for the aesthetic.

That's not much of a negative as it's a testament to what you've managed to achieve in the software - technically really good. But reining in the temptation to give the logos that sort of highlight wipe across the logo could make it look more legitimate. If I compare the original Red Moss logo from Invocation: the way that animates - without the wipe - is more in the spirit of a 1970s logo.

Of course, if your intention was to take the still logos and give them a more contemporary animated twist, then you've absolutely nailed it. My favourite is the Oscar / Blockbusters-esque Hexagons logo - black background and no text for that one makes the graphic really catch the eye and, especially, that's brilliant tracking of the animation to that section of the song - the result really comes together.

Excellent stuff! All of those are very creative and the combination of animation and music is super.
Do you have them as a gif?

Could you make an One on Twoism animation if you have some spare time left? :)

shit these are good, neat and to the point. not familiar with AE, but trying to learn Flash, its hard to get my head around when/where to use tweens, symbols etc, the timeline :/ any tips of where to grasp this fast? i've a project to get done in 5-6 weeks myself and was thinking of using a Logo to start it, its not BOC related.

i take it you live traced the geogaddi in illustrator to vector then simplified it down or vectorized in Flash? i think i saw that option in there.

nice work, neat little treatment on the trans canada road markings. also on AE v Flash, what are on these that are AE? is it the fadeouts, zoom etc? hmm i know Flash can do this but i see lots using both, wondering which is which, guess i need to look at AE to see what can and cant be done in Flash. thanks!

Sure, just link me a logo I can go from and a song of choice.

There are tons of tutorials on YouTube and other Flash how-to sites that I know are out there.

I used flash for most of it, including vector tracing and most all animating, but both programs share similar animation concepts that allow you to change the shape of vectors and tween/fade.

After watching the Geogaddi segment I just wanted it to last and last.. Brilliant stuff indeed.

Thought about doing a couple of unofficial videos? Sunshine recorder would be interesting. I'm thinking about the use of the artwork enclosed in the limited edition CD release.

I'm thinking about making a gifset made up of each logo since I have the original files and programs that will allow me to do so. I'm a bit busy at the moment, but when I get around to making them I'll be sure let you guys know! :P
