BOC & Tonto's Expanding Head Band?

Anyone have any suggestions of other artists with some 70's synths and creepiness to it? Tonto's Expanding Head Band put out some early 70s stuff, which sounded ahead of it's time, but I'd like to find more that expands (pardon the pun) on their sound and adds some later 70's synth influence, sort of like the background music to this old tv show:

I don't really care for Krautrock and it's not easy to find stuff that sounds like this:

Lastly, I know BOC have cited Incredible String Band as an influence, but they sound a lot more like Tonto's Expanding Head Band than the Incredible Strings. Has anyone heard any interviews where BOC mention Tonto?

I wish I had my headphones with me at work today. I wanna hear this...so apparently, they did session work with the Isley Brothers and Stevie Wonder. I remember a BoC interview that mentions their own liking of Stevie Wonder.

As Distant Nebulus already said, TEHB have worked with Stevie Wonder quite a bit and BoC are big Stevie fans. They're on 6 of his albums (3 of his best imo: Music of My Mind, Talking Book & Innervisions) so I'd imagine BoC are into their stuff. I got to see TEHB (well, Virtual TONTO) live a few years back. Their set opened with a a short documentary about their work with Stevie talking about them and some studio clips. Great stuff.

Bibio actually sampled this bit, but I forget for which song. Pretentious maybe?

Malcolm Cecil has a pretty cool album 'Radiance'. It's a bit more new age-y and not really like the Tonto stuff though.

I was beginning to think this band was some kind of KLF-style wind up. I'd never heard of them until this week when I read this thread, then I stumble across 2 more references to them in the media and last night Bruichladdich Whisky mentioned them on Twitter...
