I just released my debut album 'Timegazing'

Hi everyone!
I'm proud to announce that I finally released my first album yesterday.
Having worked on it for over two years, it really has become an important part of my life. I don't want to say too much about the music itself so just give it a listen, I hope you'll enjoy it

Guys. GUYS. This is straight up fantastic. I'd like to leave the details to your own listening, but I love the way this album blends opposites; ambient melodies and staccato, fast precussion; electronic and warm pads with lush, maybe even live drum kits. It's really a sonic journey, and a damn good sounding one. Loving Timegazing, really good job Danny!

ive been listening to timegazing just about every day for the past week, and i must say. this album is absolutely incredible. i am thoroughly impressed by the blending of melodies. you also do a great job of creating some incredible background soundscapes.

this album really caught me off guard. i wasnt expecting much and instead i feel as though i have found an absolute jewel. thank you for all the time and effort you put into this music, you should be very proud.

also, could you please explain some of your techniques on making the record. and if you could please give some basic info about yourself and\or your music

Feels good to have people actually listening to the album multiple times, as I think it indeed takes a while to unfold.

I'm always happy to answer any specific questions you might have, I don't have much to say about me or my music in general though

A short artist bio can be found on my Soundcloud page, but apart from that I rather have the music speak for itself.
As for how the album was made, I used pretty much everything I could get my hands on; both hard- and software synths, some guitar, lots of field recordings and speech samples, various vst plugins and probably some other stuff as well, but since I recorded most of it over a year ago I really don't remember all the details.

Preperation 27 is so awesome, I can't stop listening. Reminds me of the Tron OST that Daft Punk did, which believe me is a compliment! Definitely one of the more aggressive moments on Timegazing.

Really great work man. I was worried at first that it would be an overly BoCish sounding album, but although the BoC influences are blatantly there in the music, you've really kept it varied, original and full of surprises. Preparation 27 had me worried at first, thought it might be a kinda Daft Punk homage track at the start but it really develops into something quite unique and has become one of my favorites on an album full of ace tracks. Good work. I'll be ordering a CD at the end of the month.

I said it before on DaveJ/eyesix's thread but, I'm really digging all the stuff on the Sparwood bandcamp. Fair play. Keep it up.

I never thought of it as a 'BoC-ish' sounding thing as a whole, but they really were an influence for some of the tracks, the first and the last one in particular, so I do see where you're coming from

That's mainly due to the age of the tracks as well, most of those being two or three years old now; especially back then I really had a thing for their sound.

And kind of funny, I was told Preparation 27 does sound like Daft Punk a few times now, though I actually never listened to anything they did (besides checking out some tracks on RAM once).

So yeah, really happy to hear you're liking the album, cheers!

this is a compliment, even though it may not be taken as one. but this album to me sounds like it could be a bunch of twoism, hi scores, and music has the right to children, b-sides.

Thanks man! I'm very happy to hear that; while I always find it hard to rate or rank my own songs objectively, A Place Above still has always been a personal favorite of mine and the quiet part at the end might be my favorite moment on the album as well.

Having a tricky time deciding on an out-and-out favourite track... Which can only be a good sign!

Really good album - hardly any throwaway songs; practically every one has a catchy or intriguing element, with some great textures and especially varied percussion styles and sounds mixing things up and keeping it interesting. Really well produced, too.

And going back to the favourite track(s) question - personally the 3 stand-outs for me were: No End On, A Place Above, The Awakening. And the mood & structure of The Awakening is perfectly suited to its 6-minute length; I think that if it were much shorter, it sort of wouldn't work. Very well done on that.
