Ideally we should just start assuming music is music and there's nothing wrong in liking particular artists/songs.

On the other hand, I never really liked Arcade Fire and always thought they were hyped up beyond known limits, however I'm really digging Reflektor, I love its little details. Also it's surprising for me to lke music currently playing in clubs, but Azealia Bank's 212 is simply da shit. I love how contemporary it is while also borrowing a whole bunch of old school hip hop while keeping it a simple pop tune. I really like it and I can't help to feel certain links with the Go! Team more heavy side.

I can see why Arcade Fire are considered overrated. But Funeral is a cracking album.

this is not a 'guilty' pleasure as i am unashamed of my love for sade (she is a goddess) but some people poke fun at it or when they catch me listening are like "huh?" haha

It's true...however, if I remember correctly, isn't there another Lighthouse family tune in this thread? This couldn't be the second one you've posted, could it?

Goddamnit, I never wanted to fall in love with Asteroids Galaxy Tour, but damn that chick is hot. I saw them live, and it was amazing.

Yes. William Orbit is a fine composer/producer. Madonna scares me a bit though.

I'm a fan of quit a bit of Madonna's stuff,

that track in particular has a great psychedelic pop feel to it. At least the Austin Powers version.

I've been listening to Parachutes this evening, that album is definitely solid. Surprisingly reading back, and seeing that Trouble performed poorly in the charts, despite being rinsed by the BBC on every tear jerking montage they made. Comparing that tune to what is on offer in the charts now, well, I'd know what I'd rather listen to.

It always amazed me that the public went mad for 'Yellow' (worst song on the album) at the time and ignored the rest of Parachutes. Saw them at Brixton Academy around that time and the crowd only shut up and drunkenly sang along for that one song. Their EPs and b-sides from then we're all good too. After that I felt they became the Chris Martin band, pushed the piano to the fore and got progressively less interesting. Still love Parachutes though.
