And the contrast between the bare verses (as short as they are) and the lush vocal harmonies on the chorus (as short as it is)
and that incredible solo in the middle of the track.

Kinda trying to promote a band which I discovered a few years ago which I feel has not gotten anywhere near the amount of attention they deserve.
Check out the plethora of live videos (both acoustic and electric) for various websites they've done, they're all demonstrations of incredible musicianship.
Their Take-Away Show is to die for.

This isn't exactly my type of music, but it's really well put together and composed, aside from being pretty original.
Not bad. I love that twangy guitar sound, and the strummed acoustic rhythm which comes in about two minutes in really gives the track momentum, but my main issue is that there isn't much in the way of melodic progression. It seems to hover around the same phrases most of the time. There also is a bit of the "simply putting on layers in an attempt of progressing the track" trickery. Just putting layers on top of layers doesn't really work.
I will give it to the percussion though, the energy delivered in the second half by the drummer really makes the track feel like it had hit some sort of a stride.
Could have been from something like Twin Peaks if Twin Peaks was watered down a shit load.
So, a mixed verdict I guess. I liked it but didn't love it.
I had to listen to it a few times to get a feel for it; something about the middle area felt a little off in a way that I couldn't really pin down. It could have been something to do with how the vocals were mixed, but the drumming was pretty good. Drums and vocals are the two things that can make or break a song for me. 6/10

The thumping beat brought me in, telling me to get strapped in for the duration. Adding the layer of bass at 3.00 really solidified an atmosphere. I loved how it kept building upon and taking away the sound every minute or so.
Grippingly euphoric remix, hardly felt like 11 minutes at all.

Fun little personal anecdote about that mix is that the two things that are probably most emblematic of my late childhood would be the X&Y album and The Sims 2, and that one reminds me a lot of the remix he did for TS2: Nightlife
Tindersticks - My Oblivion
Very pleasant to listen to, as well as very emotional. I haven't listened to chamber pop much but it works for me. The production is very lush and dreamy. Funnily it kinda reminds me of the Xmas where I discovered Amon Tobin and binged his first 3 albums.

There's a sushi bar that opened up fairly recently in Chatham that has colorful lighting and has kind of a club-type vibe to it. I could totally imagine hearing this track playing there while I'm having a bowl of miso soup. Breakbeat glitchy tracks like this all kind of sounds the same to me, but don't offend me either.
Don't know what it is about the bebop style that sounds instantly alluring to me, I can't even name much jazz from memory either, but fantastic stuff here. 9/10
Sounds like if Echo and the Bunnymen and A Flock of Seagulls had a lovechild.
It's quite similar to a lot of post-punk I've heard, that being said, I love this particular sound so a thumbs up!

There's an interview where the band walks off stage as soon as the interviewer said "Echo and the bunnymen" . It was in Spanish, I think, so I'm not entirely sure of the context though.

I have to admit, I had a knee-jerk reaction to the vocal style since I'm subjected to hearing "Best Day of My Life" and "On Top of the World" on a daily basis. Working past that, it's still a very nice song, I guess I just have that bias now unfortunately

I can't say I'm a massive fan, like the foals song I feel like I've heard these vocals before. It's like I went to a collage fraternity house party in 00's American suburbia. I don't know wether that's a positive or negative on this one.

I feel like I should be cutting through barb wire to this, it could accompany a sequence in a great heist film. I won't be able to listen to that propelling bassline without committing some dastardly, suspicious act! Really like the whole sound design here.

I can definitely see why the Silent Hill soundtracks influenced a lot of modern day artists, so much thought and creativity poured.
Phenomenal stomping chorus, I wonder why this wasn't released individually as a single to promote the game. Would've been a distinctive marketing move.
Both the vocals and that opening distorted reverb riff stole the show. Bluesy and foreboding.
