On my birthday last summer I capsized a canoe and went to the bottom of dirty lake/pool with my 3 month old camera round my neck.

The insurance people f**ked me over and I couldn't claim it back (2013 can suck my balls). I dried the camera out, cleaned it (still got dried mud inside the lens) and left it to dry for a few weeks. Managed to get it to turn on again recently but the LCD backscreen and interface are all dead but I can still take pictures but have no control over the settings and no view finder. Taking pictures is a completely random process at the moment but the few times I have taken pictures I've yielded some interesting results imo.
These pictures were taken at dusk in a local nature reserve and haven't had any post-editing/effects applied. They are as they are.

Try submerging it in 99% isopropyl alcohol. It will evaporate any water and clean the electronics. Those pics are pretty interesting as they are tho!

There's so much talent on this board! 34 pages would probably agree with me. I really value everyone's input on this thread (and this board), which is why I want to show you my own portfolio site I'm working on. I would like to see if anyone has any feedback.

First and foremost, I (unfortunately) have a real job, despite the handful of video jobs/internships I've applied for, but this is more of a side project to keep myself and my family entertained since I don't use facebook or whatever. I shoot a lot of timelapses, of which I've made 2 compilations of here and here (Reach for the Dead soundtrack on second one).

Anyway, these things look flawless on my home machine, but I'm struggling with bitrates for web playback, and would like some input, if anyone has any, on a couple things in particular:

First, does the lead page at TwinPeaksPhotography.com look like this?:

I've noticed that at larger monitor resolutions, the top of that pic gets cut off which kinda ruins my name.

Secondly, assuming you have a 21st century connection speed (>3mbps), do the two video compilations stutter real badly?

Feel free to look over the rest of my still images in the portfolio, and critique the shit out of me.

I apologize if you view this as spam, but in my defense, I feel like I've been a member long enough to post this. If anyone has their own Flickr, Picasa, Instagram, portfolio-whatever, I'd love to see it too! Perhaps everyone should just add their link next time they post in here? I know "bleak." in particular has been really helpful and given me some inspiration and insight on where to go next. Thanks!

Hey man, site looks good at 1080p. You can use the zoom function on Chrome to simulate different screen sizes.Top of the pic seems to stay put as I zoom out. The videos play fine here but I have a fast connection. You might want to considered putting SD / HD links at the bottom, and re-encoding to 1024kbps (768 video, 128 audio) using ffmpeg for the SD link. The bitrate of the video is analogous to the min speed internet required for it to play smoothly.

....actually I checked it out there and zenfolio seems to take care of re-encoding. So there you are it, it should work fine anywhere.
