No Stretching Please (Music in the vein of BoC)

Post by gfresh »

I'm interested in knowing which tracks from various artists anyone has heard that sound like they could be downright mistaken for BoC tracks. I'm talking no stretching, no going out on a limb, no kinda's or maybe's. I'm talking about you saying to yourself, "that's not Boards of Canada?" (now of course most of you would know better because you know their catalog by heart and have heard nearly every damn song available!)

The one's I know of (from my limited music library):

Eno Test by Marumari (given)

Black Barn by Principles of Geometry

1983 by Nathan Fake (can download at http://www.nathanfake.co.uk/content/downloads.htm )

Cerf, The Black Twig of Darkness, and Dead Oak by 14 Is My Number 1 (I found him in this topic http://www.twoism.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=185 ) I just heard these today... very nice!

Oops! My bad. Thanks for the heads up. Edit coming.

No worries.... Doesn't look like my thread is sparking any interest.

But your music really kicks ass. 'can't wait till your LP comes out!

tbh, I haven't heard anyone who sounds exactly like BoC. I know you said no stretching but uh, the keyboard phrase in Prefuse 73's "Hideyaface" sounds exactly like them. I'm only mentioning it because I've never seen it mentioned before. It's quite uncanny to my ears, and it's the only thing ever that sounds close to BoC.

yeah, he just gave away four of his older tracks, these two are very BOC sounding!
Nathan Fake - Nightlight
Nathan Fake - Showers
