Okay, so this is more a track that triggers a memory, rather than one I was listening to when the memory was made. That still counts right?
So I used to do a lot of sailing with my dad, and we would occasionally sail up the backwaters of the river we were moored on, anchor there and stay the night. In the evenings, we would launch dinghy to the shingle shore there, and light a fire, and chat and stuff. I've always had a vivid memory of watching the dying embers of the fire we made fade away when we got back to the boat, and Farewell Fire reminds me of that so intensely it's almost freaky (especially considering the name). I can't help but well up a bit when I listen to it, those were good memories.

i have so many pleasant memories of driving through missouri and arkansas hills listening to boards of canada. some of my favorite moments.
driving at night through fog so intense i had to stop multiple times, listening to TH soon after it was released. wasn't even bothered by the fog because the atmosphere was just so fitting.
once when i was about 15 i was house-sitting (more like mansion-sitting) with my cousin for some rich people and i slept in one of the bedrooms one night. at the time i had an alarm clock that my ipod was connected to and i hadn't realized it was set. this was very soon after i discovered BoC and i'd just downloaded a bunch of their music and hadn't listened to all yet. around dusk it played sixtyten and i am pretty sure this was the first time i had actually listened to it. i remember hearing most of the song in the background of my dream; when it started my dream was really vastly altered by the song and i was in a deep green room. slowly i actually woke up and the bedroom had some rather thick curtains that were a turquoise color so the light that was let in was very faint and greenish, and i just remember laying there silently for the remainder of the song in awe of it.
p.s. this is my first time actually posting here, so hi friends! been lurking for a long time and i figure it's time i joined the discussion so my friends (who mostly don't obsess over BoC) don't have to be my only outlet for spewing BoC feelings. haha

don't count on it. i've been here for quite a while and my friends still get the occasional outburst of ridiculous fanboyism.uf0party wrote:p.s. this is my first time actually posting here, so hi friends! been lurking for a long time and i figure it's time i joined the discussion so my friends (who mostly don't obsess over BoC) don't have to be my only outlet for spewing BoC feelings. haha
