Finally got my replacements in the mail.. and I still have issues. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar, or maybe I'm just terribly unlucky.
First, I have the "fixed" version of Trans Canada Highway, but now "Dayvan Cowboy" has static in the right channel. Anyone else have something similar?
Second, I got a new copy of Twoism, but it's the same pressing. Matrix run outs are the same as my current copy (not the new one listed on Discogs), and it doesn't sound any better. Anyone not get the new copy in their shipment?
Last, I'm on my third copy of Geogaddi, and it still has the Corsair problem. I've heard some people have managed to get ok copies. Do they really exist?

I bought all the records at my local record store and Warp still sent me the replacements. You just have to provide a proof of purchase (so photos of the records and an invoice for example).euue wrote:so, maybe cope of geogaddi has the distorted corsair. i bought it in a local record store, though, not bleep...do you think i'd ought to contact bleep/warp about getting one of these replacement copies? or since it's not directly from them, will it matter
I have been sent the new Trans Canada Highway but haven't noticed any significant static on the right channel.BodaciousPie wrote:Finally got my replacements in the mail.. and I still have issues. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar, or maybe I'm just terribly unlucky.

As far as Twoism goes, I got the replacement copy (the different pressing I mean) and it's cleaner than the other one. Again the key word here is cleaner, not perfect. Like all the others (and like all vinyl pressed today it seems) there is still noticeable surface noise, clicks and pops even fresh out of the package ... it's just not as blatantly noticeable and distracting as on the other copies.
If you're looking for a fix on the Corsair problem, ask for a replacement copy of the third disc. They've done a repress of the third disc alone, specifically to address the problem on Corsair, and this one sounds ok, and by that I mean the distortion noise on Corsair is gone completely. There's still surface noise just as the other ones.

Finally a listenable TCH EP copy, a warped one and really far from great, but at least it's listenable.
If anyone wants to listen to a great vinyl pressing, get the last LP from Nils Frahm, it took six test pressings and a delay of more than three months, but it's just amazing, the kind of stuff I was expecting to get from Warp on this reissue series. How silly of me.

I got in touch with Bleep earlier this week. They were SUPER responsive and helpful. Only asked for pictures and a recording of the noise on twoism. Today I got an email from the customer service department saying they were going to ship them. Lets hope the re-pressed ones are good!
Twoism was noisy
Trans Canada was scratched
Corsair was fucked on geogaddi
and music has the right was scratched
All in all HALF of the vinyls I got were fucked up.

got my 3rd round of replacements for Geogaddi. this time around i asked bleep for the known LP3 (with Corsair) re-repress. they asked if i wanted the other 2, i said yes. instead of getting a whole sealed album this time, I got 3 individual LPs: LP1 and LP2 with artwork sleeves, and LP3 with a generic white sleeve. To no surprise, LP1 and LP2 had the same issues. the re-repress of LP3 checked out fine.ZosoCon wrote:got my replacements last week. the eps checked out, as well as the new campfire headphase. however, the geogaddi album (the full and still sealed album) had the same audio distortion issues with:
B3 Julie And Candy
D4 A Is To B As B Is To C
D5 Over The Horizon Radar
E4 Corsair
I was able to get an original 2002 pressing, and i can confirm that it wasn't anything on my part (e.g. stylus) but in deed the repressing.
I now have 3 copies of the repressing and all 3 have the same issues. therefore i think everyone who got the repressing should check their copy and check tracks B3, D4 and D5 (E4 corsair seems to be a given, considering they repressed this one).
btw, the re-repressed LP3 (Matrix / Runout: BD36640-01 E1) was not included in the latest sealed copy they sent me
I've sent bleep audio samples of the issues (as well as the corresponding original 2002 pressing samples as a cross-reference). If anyone is interested, i'll put them up on soundcloud.
so, i have to say the issues of LP1 and LP2, as minimal as they may be, are nonetheless still there (best heard through headphones). but i've decided to give it a rest. obviously the demand for a repress isn't high enough.
final verdict: everyone keep/go after the 2002 original
Fingers crossed everything goes to plan this time dude, you've been so patient!portiss wrote:So I mailed them and something had gone wrong somewhere. They were very kind and sent me a new bundle immediately. Got the fedex mail as well, it should arrive on the 7th. So it has been a long wait, but I'm still happy with the Bleep support.

Haha, it doesn't really feel like that because of my whining in this topic. I have a collection of old Vinyl my brother gave to me, but these are the first Vinyl I'm buying for myself, so these are kind of special.fujee wrote:Fingers crossed everything goes to plan this time dude, you've been so patient!portiss wrote:So I mailed them and something had gone wrong somewhere. Anyway, the wait is probably almost over.

So, they have finally arived. I'm happy!

Just 1 question though, did everybody receive all of the other Bleep stickers? And why do I don't have the Hexagon sticker thingy? With the 3 albums and 3 ep's in it? Do you only get that sticker when you order both the album and ep bundle?

Ahhh..crap. Remember that time I posted in here saying all my represses sounded ok? I just listened to TCH through headphones and noticed I have clicks going once per rotation all through Constants are Changing and Farewell Fire. I bought these forever ago so I hope they'll send me a replacement side C and D. Just emailed. There's mild physical damage, but it doesn't show up on camera.
C/D's hole is quite small too. I have to basically force it onto my player. This I could live with, but not the sound quality now that I know it's there and all over the place.
A/B had some annoyance to it, but it's livable and I chalked it up to not doing a good enough dusting when I played it. I need to wash this microfiber cloth.....
I knew I should've taken a listen through headphones as soon as I got them, but I was in the middle of a move.

Fuck... I had no idea things were this bad. I've had my records since first release, but haven't listened r looked @ them b/c I'm living somewhere without my record players for a little while.
...there's no real way I can check if they're okay or not until a few months time
Do you guys think, if they're fucked, by that point it'd be too late to organise replacements with Warp?

Bleep just got back to me and asked me to send an audio sample to them and they'll gladly send a new one out. All is well. You should be fine! I think they understand that it really takes time to go through vinyl properly.
