I do feel a new EP will be on its way soon though, they have always released an EP around the time of each of their albums right? Especially with all this talk of live performances.
If the boys know we're expecting an ep, I think it'll leave them more inclined to do the opposite, unfortunately. But who knows.
They have made it clear there will be a live performance thanks to their 'like' on Facebook. No doubt that that's next on the cards.

Hate to be pessimistic, but I don't think a 'Like' on Facebook, guarantees anything. I know they 'liked' a post about a new album, but have seen them like a few things (if it is them running the page). Maybe they just liked the comment, and it wasn't a hint or confirmation of anything. Not that I don't think they would ever play live again, just don't put much faith in a like on Facebook, and doubt the brothers would either.
I wonder if Boards of Canada browses these forums. If so, I hope you guys realize just how desperate your fanbase are for some new material. Don't leave us hanging, bros.

We just ended a 7 year wait. So hasty!
Yeah, seriously... lol. Give it another 3-or-4 years and then watch all the little whirlpools of insanity and rabbit-hole-chasing that form in this place (they're fun!)

Screw that, they should release all of their music, put it on a cd, and each copy signed by the brothers themselves. I also require a lock of hair from each one.

I wouldn't be surprised if they'd had a quick look, I can't see them being completely blind about the forum yet still slipping in that clue in the banner last year.
In hindsight, it does look too obscure and random to be true, but the hype was minor, and it was real. *wipes away sweat*
I imagine mdg reads most of the stuff, and if there is something worthwhile or funny he maybe passes it on to them in one form or another.
Don't mean to burst bubbles but I seriously doubt they read the forums, unless they've had a few too many whiskeys and feel up for a laugh, in a twisted sort of way.
