Well this all got very silly very quickly didn't it?!?
If somebody wants people to donate money to a good cause, with or without utilising someone else's material to do it, how about simply setting up a JustGiving page or equivalent?
Not even going to go into the morals of distributing this. Given 99.9% of this board probably possess a copy already (including me) and of those 99.9%, I'd wager 99.9%, if not more, didn't acquire it legitimately to begin with. Does kind of undermine the moral high ground upon which we place our collective soapbox I feel... although that still doesn't make it 'alright' I guess?
Whatever the outcome, I sincerely hope you Dad gets better soon. Cancer took my Mum from me and I'd sell my soul for another 30 seconds with her. Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom... But I really appreciate all this!Mexicola wrote:Well this all got very silly very quickly didn't it?!?

She's not saying: "Here are some rare high-quality BoC songs. Donate to me because I went through the trouble of getting them mixed/mastered and would like to use the money for my dads treatment."
She's saying: "My dad has cancer, here's a place to donate for his treatment. Oh by the way, here are some free and high-quality BoC songs for download."
The two are seperate. The only question is if her story is valid, and that's up to the person downloading the files if this ever becomes fully released.

The Playground is probably the best place for that. Maybe the name doesn't seem right but it's basically where all the off-topic, non-musical discussion goes:Doors_Of_Perception wrote:Is there perhaps a section of this forum that would be more appropriate to discuss my father? From now on, this thread is dedicated to the releases, that's it.

Can we all clear the corsair and rue the whirl with a run back of Original Nlogax in its full soulseek/transcoded/youtube glory?
Let's all hang out by the macquarie ridge, or perhaps the beach at redpoint, and enjoy the whitewater vuew from a patch of red moss to an old tune. if we stay til quite a bit after sunset, we may observe the forest moon from the distance.

Seriously though, once it's all been cleared up, please post an update.

Good lord, yes. We've heard the tracks for years! and there have been numerous "remasters" done on this forum. The money aspect really muddied this whole thing up. Hopefully that can be addressed outside of this. Not trying to be a prick, am sympathetic and all, but take that to the playground, and that should end that, yeah?Mexicola wrote:Well this all got very silly very quickly didn't it?!?

The tunes will go online tomorrow.
EDIT: Unless there are any objections. (Legal, from the band, from HS, etc.)

I know, apologies. Just hope that ends the debate. I also find it ironic that so many ppl clamor over better audio re: a band that is all about natural sound/aging and the fitting quality of the past sounding like the past.Doors_Of_Perception wrote:I have done that! I do really appreciate this though, and am drinking and upset in general right now. Maybe one more pop will do me good.
